Minimum Educational Qualification: Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, or other related fields.

Minimum Work Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role within a laboratory environment or in a comparable analytical position.

Nestlé Angola is looking for a Laboratory Technician who will provide professional support in decision-making processes to ensure food safety and the quality of products manufactured at the factory by adhering to the sampling plan, performing analyses in accordance with prescribed protocols, and communicating the results of all required tests conducted on products and materials.

Your responsibilities

People & Capability Development

• Promote Quality Awareness and strengthen the Quality Culture across the factory.
• Contribute to the development of Hygiene and Food Safety competencies among employees and members of the Quality team.
• Support and facilitate Food Safety and HACCP initiatives while contributing to the continuous development of team capabilities.

Testing & Analytical Methods

• Perform laboratory analyses in accordance with established standards, methods, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with the self-control plan for laboratory equipment under assigned responsibility, including calibration and routine verification activities.
• Interpret analytical results and ensure the repeatability and reproducibility of laboratory analyses.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in line with company requirements.

Quality Excellence

• Support the Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) Program in the pursuit of zero defects through timely identification of issues and participation in root cause analysis activities.
• Support compliance with Nestlé Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Food Safety Management Systems, and other applicable standards and procedures.
• Assist in the delivery of training and coaching activities related to laboratory processes and quality requirements.

Auditing & Verification

• Support readiness for internal and external audits.
• Assist in troubleshooting activities and the implementation and follow-up of corrective actions arising from non-conformities.
• Verify compliance with established quality and food safety requirements.

What Will Make You Successful?

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in a laboratory environment or a comparable analytical role.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and laboratory experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exposure to a factory or market environment is an advantage.
• Experience within the FMCG industry is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent command of English and Portuguese, both written and verbal.
