Electrical Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of facility electrical equipment. This position performs installation, monitoring, maintenance, repair, and/or design modification of high-tech distributed manufacturing and industrial process control systems.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•    Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc.
•    Troubleshoot, repair, replace PLC’s, Servo and Frequency Drives and related electronic hardware
•    Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers’ servos, gears, sprockets chains, etc.
•    Use blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations
•    Make proper use of tools such as hacksaws, pipe benders, pipe threaders, hammers and screw drivers, splice wires and install conduit, panel boards, switch boxes, motors and drives and other electrical equipment
•    May test or recommend new equipment in the electronic field, staying well-informed of latest state of the art technology
•    Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, servos, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation
•    Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule
•    Installs change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders etc.) on our production machinery
•    Assist where practical with the implementation of small to medium electrical and automation projects.
•     Use and maintain technical materials such as equipment manuals, MSDS, Instrument database, system drawings, Process and Instrument Diagrams (PID's), schematics, and blue prints to troubleshoot and maintain systems. Maintain plant documentation in accordance with management of change procedures. 
•    Provide technical expertise to train and support production and create an environment of continuous learning.
•    Maintain housekeeping and sanitation of work area and equipment
•    Use of Nestlé computer systems for accurate tracking of product as required
•    Train others on job tasks of this role
•    Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and +1 year of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Proficiency in electrical skills: PLC programing, electrical circuits, schematics, servo motors, and familiarity with 460/220 3 PH wiring.   
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine repots and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with groups or employees of the organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
