Position Summary

The person will manage R&D projects through Idea 2 Launch process on water, flavoured and functional products to ensure business priorities and market needs for successful launches and to build knowledge for supporting future growth opportunities. Drive the development, innovation and renovation of products /processes/systems to deliver innovative and competitive products/processes/systems in response to business needs.

A day in the life of Senior R&D Specialist

Manage project activities including documentation and deliver products/processes/systems solutions with defined quality at defined time and cost (when applicable) according to Nestlé rules
Contribute to the future commercial success of the business by considering the whole picture and the context of this project and future projects
Proactively propose and drive new ideas, new raw materials, processes, tests, products
Build and document knowledge about last trends and development in relevant fields
Explore breakthrough process or technology that are patentable
Present/publish important project results to R&D, markets and SBUs together with team members
Provide accurate operational/technical/scientific support to markets in expertise areas covered by the team (ingredients, product and process, sensory, project management...)
Assist in industrialization start ups, follow-up product launches (technical/product improvements)
Ensure a good and reactive network within the Nestlé R&D community, develop a network with external partners (universities, scientific community, suppliers

What will make you successful

BSc, MSc or PhD in Food Industry, Science or Technology
PhD experience (current or past) is a must
At least 3 years experience in Management of International projects in R&D / Operations in Drinks or Flavor industries
Demonstrated capability to lead a group of people and coordinate activities/various specialists
Solid understanding of operational set-up of categories
Ability to manage resources and budget requirements
Has demonstrated the courage and ability to take decisions and solve problems
Very food communication skills in Italian and English
