The role:  

 

The Government Affairs Manager is responsible for anticipating and shaping the healthcare policy landscape at the regional level to ensure rapid, sustainable, and equitable access to the company’s nutrition portfolio.

This role combines a strategic vision of health policy with flawless execution of regional market access plans, effectively translating scientific and health economic evidence into value recognized by regional health authorities. Serving as the key point of contact for market access in the regions, the role engages high-level decision-makers and key opinion leaders to advocate for best policies and funding decisions – securing timely reimbursement, product access and optimal product positioning – while working cross-functionally to align local initiatives with global strategy, ultimately benefiting patients, healthcare professionals and the business.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Lead Regional Market Access Strategy
    Develop and implement Market Access plans for assigned regions, adapting global and national pricing and reimbursement strategies to local realities. Ensure alignment with the Integrated Commercial Plan (ICP) and anticipate changes in regional healthcare systems and policies.
  • Shape the Regional Policy and Reimbursement Environment
    Monitor health policy developments across Autonomous Communities and proactively engage in forums, working groups, and government affairs activities. Work with regional decision-makers to secure a favorable regulatory and budget environment for product reimbursement.
  • Drive Market Intelligence and Insight Generation
    Continuously assess the regional access landscape to identify opportunities, risks, competitor activities, and potential access barriers. Provide actionable insights and guidance to internal teams to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Build and Manage Key Stakeholder Relationships
    Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional health authorities, payers, hospital committees, and key opinion leaders, and scientific societies. Advocate for the company’s portfolio by ensuring optimal positioning, inclusion in formularies, and alignment with regional health priorities.
  • Oversee Pricing, Reimbursement, and Tender Activities
    Lead regional negotiations on reimbursement, develop tender strategies, and ensure timely product listing in regional schedules and hospital formularies. Secure agreements aligned with national strategy while addressing regional budget constraints.
  • Leverage Health Economics and Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    Use HEOR evidence, budget impact models, and real‑world data to support value propositions and reimbursement decisions. Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Medical, HEOR, and Regulatory teams to support launches, prepare submissions, and ensure consistent access messaging. Maintain strong performance tracking, budget oversight, and full compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.

 

 

What will make you a great fit?  

 

  • University degree in health sciences, health economics, health policy, pharmacy, nutrition, economics, or a related field. Knowledge and understanding of Market Access, Health Economics and Outcome Research basis.
  • An advanced degree or certification in Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Health Policy, or Market Access is highly valued.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience is required for this role, including at least 2 years in regional or hospital market access within Spain.
  • Prior experience navigating Spain’s healthcare system at the regional level is mandatory.
  • Take over the main aspects of National and Regional Health Policy . Development and execution of National Market Access (and/or health economic) strategies at the interface with Commercial, Development and other teams.
