Position Summary

Ensure execution and Continuous Improvement of formulation processes to deliver Business Excellence in formulation.

Responsible to implement formulation strategy across Nestlé Purina PetCare EMENA factories in collaboration with the other relevant functions to deliver best in class recipes:

compliant vs relevant regulations, on time, on quality and at optimum cost.

A day in the life of...

ENSURE COMPLIANCE OF RECIPES

  • Ensure that each recipe used at factory level complies with European Regulations, FEDIAF and Nestle internal Guidelines for Food Safety, Nutrition and Labelling (LSS)
  • In case of Regulatory change, work with relevant functions to assess recipe compliance, update formulation Tools and deploy implementation plan across production sites

 

SUPPORT DESIGN OF RECIPES

  • Work in collaboration with Procurement and Ingredient experts to identify formulation opportunities using options of ingredients available in the Market
  • Support Product Platforms during recipe development including: Innovation & Renovation process, sourcing, crises and validate final recipe structure
  • Support Factory Formulation Specialists during local recipe implementation process
  • Provide guidance to other technical functions through recipe simulations to answer specific Business needs linked to formulation
  • Manage and maintain in collaboration with Product Platforms the recipe Specification Writing Rules (definition of recipe chassis)

 

ENSURE FUNCTIONALITY OF FORMULATION TOOLS

  • Ensure accuracy of formulation Tools database to predict recipe characteristics
  • Perform maintenance of current formulation Tools
  • Design next generation formulation systems
  • Maintain internal rules and standards for recipes and ingredients within Purina formulation Tools (coding, Nutritional Standards...)

 

DRIVE PRODUCT SUPERIORITY

  • Lead and/or support initiatives to continuously understand and improve formulas to reach best in class palatability for our products

 

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through scenario planning, recipe routine optimization and benchmarking across factories 
  • Leverage ingredient Specialists to identify cost effective solutions linked to new raw materials and/or suppliers development
  • Support Factory Formulation Specialists to define and implement best handling solution aligned with Business strategy ensuring safety of Nestle collaborators, quality of ingredients and cost effectiveness 
  • Continuously simplify and standardize ways of working across relevant functions linked to recipe development and implementation

 

ENSURE NUTRITION SUPPORT TO PPRSA TEAM

  • Understand impact of formulations on digestibility, faecal scores and urinary pH
  • Provide guidance on nutritional testing requirements for recipe changes
  • Interpret PTC nutritional test results and provide guidance on recipe improvement
  • Understand recipe and ingredient requirements to sustain nutritional claims
  • Lead and/or support initiatives to continuously understand and improve formulas to reach nutritional targets
What will make you successful

Graduated with a master’s degree in food science and/or related discipline.

You have a first experience in product Research & Development and/or product technology.

Fluency in English (spoken and written), any other language is a plus.
