Position summary
As a Junior Legal & Compliance Counsel, you will provide support to the Legal & Compliance department. More specifically, you will be working closely and collaboratively with the Legal Team and key stakeholders to provide expert and business-focused day-to-day advice and support across a broad scope of issues. You will also work collaboratively with the Local, Zone and Global contacts to leverage synergies and global expertise for the benefit of the local business and support the Center/Zone on Centre/Zone-led strategic initiatives. Such initiatives, might include the implementation of L&C technology, as well as collaborating on market specific requests from the Central Legal Teams.

 

A day in the life…

  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conducting legal research on various topics, including commercial, civil, corporate law & GDPR.
  • Legal Docs Drafting and Reviewing: Assisting with the preparation and reviewing of contracts and other legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advisory Support: Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on a range of issues, including but no tlimited to consumer contests/lotteries, GDPR, consumer issues & corporate governance.
  • Collaboration with Head of L&C & Senior L&C Counsels: Working closely with HoL and Senior LCs to support legal initiatives and projects.
  • Litigation Support: Assisting with the management of litigations: preparation of court files, legalization & collaboration with external legal counsels.
  • Training and Development: Participating in legal training sessions to enhance knowledge of legal issues relevant to the organization.
  • Being responsible for the Legal Digital tools, Reporting & Archive 

 

What makes you successful
Education 

  • University Degree in Law by reputable Greek University 
  • LLM by reputable University is a plus 
  • Excellent English (also legal terminology) is a must ; Bilingual/Multilingual ability is an asset 

 

Experience

  • Member of the Athens Bar Association 2-3 years
  • Prior in-house experience, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods industry or 
  • Experience in a large, reputable firm or
  • Experience as a generalist & in litigation 

 

Technical /soft skills 

  • Expertise in accountable L&C areas (Commercial, Civil, Corporate & Consumer Law/ GDPR/ IT/ Digital (platforms, cloud etc.) & Antitrust), supplemented by general knowledge of other L&C areas 
  • Pragmatic business sense and understanding of core business fundamentals  
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to translate complicated L&C concepts to understandable business terms 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills service orientation, ability to handle pressure, discretion and results focus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
