Opportunity currently exists for a Production Manager to join our Marton Factory, the home of TUX.

 

In this role, the Production Manager will be responsible for leading, inspiring and developing manufacturing teams to maintain standards, achieving production plans within agreed costs, drive continuous improvement towards best-in-class manufacturing. 

 

A day in the life…

 

Reporting to the Factory Manager and leading a team, key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Manage and lead Team Leaders in the production of Purina Petcare products.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are run safely to quality standards and cost effectively; and ensure resources are allocated to meet requirements including those that relate to TGA GMP.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities & the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment systems, policies & procedures.
  • Ensure incidents and accidents are investigated and preventative actions implemented to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Budget management for Production Operations.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of the Food Safety Management System related to the Function of the Dept, including execution of standards to meet compliance requirements.
  • Ensure knowledge of Food Safety Audit requirements and the implementation of compliance measures relevant to the function and across the Factory.
  • Improve and responsibly manage water and energy usage in production operations.
  • Drive GMP improvements and requirements for production environment and site.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team leader with a drive to deliver quality outcomes with efficiency and with a passion for continuous process improvement.
  • 5+ years previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a FMCG production environment.
  • Possess knowledge in food manufacturing or Degree/Diploma in Food sciences or Engineering.
  • Successful in leading projects involving different departments or functions.
  • Exposure to implementing continuous improvement and employee involvement techniques. Implementation experience of TPM.
  • Experience in change management and exposure to continuous improvement techniques.    
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train and develop a group of people.
  • It is essential that you have excellent people management skills, with a continuous improvement mind-set and demonstrable experience in leading and engaging a team to motivate and enhance performance.
  • You will demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, problem solving, analysis, decision-making abilities.
