The Manager, Pilot Plant leads, plans, organizes, and executes the deliverables for the Pilot Plant while leading a team of technicians and shift leads.  The Manager Pilot Plant drives for operational results that support business unit and company requirements and deliver products in a timely, safe, compliant, and environmentally sustainable manner.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promote Safety and ensure it is the top priority within the pilot plant.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with deadlines and coordination of multiple projects within budget.
  • Manage resources within the group, planning, training, completing reviews, and providing support services as well as project responsibilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and motivational support to the group.
  • Deliver first time right success on Pilot Plant trial execution (priorities agreed with Project Leaders).
  • Drive continuous improvement to achieve excellence, eliminate waste, maximize value, and minimize cost.
  • Maintain current compliance documentation (certifications, permits, as needed).
  • Ensure all pilot plant documentation is maintained and trials are executed in NesTMS in a timely manner.
  • Drive weekly and monthly planning meeting to optimize trial delivery (first time right) to ensure Pilot Plant meets the requirements of the Project Leaders.
  • Maintain skills matrix for pilot plant technicians, including identifying and filling any gaps in accordance with regular Performance Evaluation and Personal Development Plan reviews.
  • Actively participate in appropriate science and technology networks.
  • Keep up to date with new methodological trends in digital and technical area.

 

Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)

  • BS in appropriate technical discipline or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience required
  • Leadership and people development experience required
  • Must possess technical experience in the liquid processing technologies used in the Pilot Plant, ideally in aseptics
  • Ability to manage resources and budget requirements
  • Deep knowledge in Coffee Operations preferred
  • Proven written/verbal communication, planning, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organization skills
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite and MS Teams, ideally some in MS Power Platform
  • Ability to travel worldwide
