Position Summary:
Manager Pilot Plant leads, plans, organizes and executes the deliverables for the Pilot Plant while leading a team of technicians and shift leads. Manager Pilot Plant drives for operational results that support business unit and company requirements and deliver products in a safe, compliant, timely and environmentally sustainable manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with deadlines and coordination of multiple projects within budget.
- Manage resources within the group, planning, training, completing reviews, and providing support services as well as project responsibilities.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and motivational support to the group.
- Deliver first time right success on Pilot Plant trial execution (priorities agreed with Product Groups).
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve excellence, eliminate waste, maximize value and minimize cost.
- Maintain current compliance documentation (certifications, permits, as needed).
- Promote Safety and ensure it is the top priority within the pilot plant
- Drive weekly and monthly planning meeting to optimize trial delivery (first time right) to ensure Pilot Plant meets the requirements of the Project leader.
- Maintain skills matrix for pilot plant technicians, including identifying and filling any gaps in accordance with regular Personal Development Plan reviews and business requirements.
- Ensure all pilot plant documentation is maintained and trials are executed in Nestlé’s Trial Management System in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in appropriate networks, working groups and committees.
- Keep up to date with new methodological trends in technical area.
Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in appropriate technical discipline preferred
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience required
- Leadership and people development experience required
- Must possess technical experience of food and beverage processing technologies
- Ability to manage resources and budget requirements
- Deep knowledge in coffee operations preferred
- Proven written/verbal communication, planning, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organization skills
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and ideally Power Platform
- Ability to travel worldwide
