Science & Analytical Intern

Position Snapshot

The Nestlé Development Center Marysville is part of a worldwide R&D Network that provides technical development expertise for beverage product, manufacturing and packaging processes.  We develop products and processes for countries all over the world.  Our multi-cultural center is one of the oldest Nestle R&D Centers and we are very proud of our beverage heritage. As part of the NDC Science & Analytical team an intern will gain experience and exposure to the Science & Technology Analytical team process which includes analytical project support and method development/optimization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform Gas Chromatography analyses (sample preparation, instrument set-up, routine maintenance)
  • Analyze chromatography using Agilent ChemStation and Mass Hunter Software
  • Analyze data trends and variation linked to product development challenges
  • Communicate findings and results via internal reports

Requirements

  • Must be working toward a PhD or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or related Science (at least one semester left after internship)
  • Preferred 3.0 or above cumulative GPA
  • Full-time, paid opportunity  
  • Availability – start time is May/June in 2022 for 6 month duration
  • Experience with gas chromatography required, exposure to Mass Spectrometry a plus
  • Sponsorship for work visas are not available for this program
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
