Nestlé Development Center Marysville is one of the longest-standing R&D (Research & Development) centers in Nestlé’s worldwide network. Here, we are the home of great coffee innovation - we provide technical development expertise for beverage products, working on well renowned brands Starbuck’s, Coffee-Mate, Nescafe, and Blue Bottle.

 

Position Summary:

Senior Project Manager autonomously leads development projects and related project activities for the coffee business (NESCAFE, Starbucks, Blue Bottle, Seattle Best coffee) including instant coffee and K-cup products. These development projects will be medium to large projects and may involve multiple markets, regions, or zones.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D projects from concept to launch.
    • Direct project approach, setup, status report and closing.
    • Drives project teams or cross discipline groups.
    • Ensure all deliverables are achieved as per Nestlé I2L (Ideal 2 Launch) process.
    • Effectively collaborates with product development lead on product/processes/experiments/trials.
  • Manage stakeholders.
  • Keep current in the business aspects of the product category.
  • Continuously develop project management skills.
  • Contribute to the scientific/technical pipeline.
  • Coach junior Project Managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.         

 

Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)

  • Minimum BS Degree in Food Science or Chemistry, or related field is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the food industry and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading and managing projects (from end-to-end).
  • Knowledge in area of product development and food processing, including unit operations and microbiological/physical/chemical product alterations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in instant coffee processes and instant coffee product development is a plus.
  • PMP accreditation a plus.
