The Sr. DC/Warehouse Manager (site leader) manages the day-to-day operation of the organization's operations in non-manufacturing environments in compliance with established policies and procedures, including on-going management of HR issues and policies.  Participates in developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures for the organization.  Is responsible for headcount projections, dock appointments, hiring and conformance to operational budget.  Coordinates the responsibility for measuring and monitoring established KPI's. Actively manages and communicates the responsibility of purchasing and managing equipment assets.  Prepares related reports and audits current procedures to monitor efficiency of operations.  Ensures employee conformance to established practices and proper training of staff.  Leads in an empowered workforce environment.  Communicates effectively upwardly, laterally and directly to subordinate levels on all essential matters while choosing the proper written or verbal medium.

 

 

Budget:  Setting, reviewing, evaluating and communicating the DC budget.  Work on variance explanations and corrective forecasting with Finance on a monthly basis.  

 

Performance Management: Set and meet the network and facilities goals on safety, production and quality areas.  Manage the programs, processes, reports, trends, issues, and resolve gaps.   Support the Team and process improvement environment to empower and challenge employees. 

 

People Management:  Providing leadership and guidance to help empower people to make their goals and develop people within the organization.  Strong emphasis on process improvement teams.  Close alignment and relationship with HR to ensure operation within guidelines and promote a non-union environment.  Provide over-site of safety, team structure, training programs, wage and benefit process, discipline, incentives and related activities.

 

Administration: Setting and managing goals and processes of above areas (short and long term).    Dealing with the ambiguity of daily operations.  Facilitating conflict management and goal alignment for individuals and teams.  Re-evaluation of priorities and alignments to balance resources (people and budget).   On-going management of daily communications (phone, e-mail, meetings, etc). 

 

Oversee the efficient operation and inventory management of the distribution center, ensuring that all inbound and outbound shipments are handled expeditiously and according to company service level standards. Coordinates the distribution center activities with related activities of the local sales, financial, transportation and operations units. Maintain a high service level, providing maximum customer satisfaction in the prompt delivery of products in saleable condition. Works closely with all representatives of the Supply Chain to achieve maximum efficiency.  Maintains adequate inventories of industrial products in area warehouses to meet sales demands.  Administer the maintenance of building, site and equipment.  Administer all benefits, workers’ compensation, FMLA and all related HR and Legal requirements.  Responsible for environmental, engineering, I.T. and systems, offices, security and everything related to the facility site.

 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in effectively managing in a warehouse environment with high performance teams.

Proven experience in various management\leadership positions.
Demonstrated ability to be a change agent
Experience managing complexities of a large operation (Safety, maintenance, HR, Legal, Quality, Environment, etc)
5 years minimum experience in managing a large, diverse group of people. Preferably in a union environment.
