Position Summary
Since 1969, our factory has been a cornerstone just eight miles west of Harrisburg. Situated at a transportation crossroads, it offers quick access to major cities like Baltimore, Boston, and New York. As one of the largest manufacturers in the area, we produce a wide range of dry pet food, including beloved brands like Puppy Chow®, Pro Plan®, and Friskies®. Beyond our work, we support local animal shelters, enriching the lives of pets everywhere. We’re also doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager with planning, administering, and implementing policies and programs relative to recruiting, hiring and employment, training and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and overall development of human resources. The HR Generalist will also assist the HR Manager with other various HR functions and special projects. This is a factory-based position and previous experience in this environment is preferred.
- Support the HR department goals to drive excellence in people processes
- Coordinate recruiting and staffing activities to find and select top talent
- Facilitate the completion of performance reviews and talent development for associates to elevate factory performance
- Manage leaves of absences, short-term disability program, FMLA requests and related personnel policy issues
- Monitor the Affirmative Action Program and EEO Compliance, ensuring adherence to all employment procedures set forth by the company, Federal and State laws
- Support and facilitate the associate conflict resolution policy to foster a positive and productive work environment
- Facilitate training for factory leadership on regulatory HR processes (FMLA, FLSA, ADAA, EEOC, etc.) and their impact to the organization
- Leads factory’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion program in collaboration with factory leadership sponsor and corporate team support
- Support associate engagement activities and team building plans through recognition, community outreach, and health and wellness events
- Lead associate mental wellbeing initiatives and act as an advocate for company resources, external opportunities, and leadership development surrounding mental wellbeing
- Spend at least 50% of workday time on the factory floor, building relationships with frontline associates and proactively identifying opportunity areas for the HR team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in a professional Human Resources role in a manufacturing, warehouse, military, or related environment
The approximate pay range for this position is $63,000 to $95,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
