Position Summary
Nestlé Purina Pet Care is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance & Control team. Reporting to the Manager – Finance & Control, this role plays a key part in market accounting, financial reporting, decision support, and internal control activities.
The Financial Analyst acts as a guardian of market accounting policies and a key liaison with Accounting Operations, supporting accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Note: This position is an existing vacancy.
A day in the life of a Financial Analyst:
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
• Coordinate Period-End Closing (PEC) activities within assigned areas, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Perform and review account reconciliations, post journal corrections, and prepare manual journal entries using approved tools.
• Support Shared Service Center and function-led end-to-end improvement initiatives, participating in operational review meetings as required.
• Prepare, validate, and transfer profit to NCI and support banking and treasury-related activities (netting, cheques, and miscellaneous transactions).
• Support Fixed Asset accounting, reporting, and compliance activities.
Costing & Manufacturing Finance
• Perform master data health checks and ensure posting accuracy for costing-related accruals during period close.
• Participate in analysis of actuals versus forecasts and prior year results, preparing dashboards across Hybrid, Distribution Centers, and MOGE.
• Support annual and quarterly standard costing processes for finished products, including third-party and co packer items.
Overheads, Planning & Decision Support
• Ensure accuracy of payroll and people-related accruals, performing regular pre-PEC health checks.
• Support planning, forecasting, and reporting of assigned P&L lines, including overhead expenses and Dynamic Forecast inputs.
• Provide financial and non-financial reporting to support business transparency and decision-making at local and group levels.
Compliance, Tax & Audit Support
• Act as a back-up for Compliance Senior Finance Analyst in monitoring segregation of duties, compensating controls, ICOS KRIs and KPIs.
• Support internal and external audits and assist with information requests related to sales tax, income tax, and customs compliance.
• Review and approve customs-related amendments for finished goods imports, identifying risks and opportunities.
What will make you successful
• University degree with a major or minor in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 2–3 years of experience in financial reporting and/or accounting, ideally within a large CPG, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
Preferred Skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting standards, internal controls, and financial processes.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and present insights to senior stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Collaborative mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• SAP experience and knowledge of financial systems is an asset.

Compensation Range: $ 70,000 - $ 83,000 CAD
