This 20 months contract opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is responsible for delivering financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and decision-support activities that drive business performance and informed decision-making. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Control, this role ensures accurate and timely financial planning, forecasting, period-end close activities, and compliance with Nestlé Accounting Standards. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager partners cross-functionally to analyze business performance, provide actionable insights and recommendations, and support strategic planning initiatives that help achieve organizational objectives. 

 

A day in the life: 

Period-End Close & Financial Reporting 

  • Lead and support period-end close activities, including Cost of Goods Sold allocations, P&L reviews, financial health checks, and variance analysis against forecast (e.g., volume, brand mix, and key business drivers) 

  • Analyze inbound freight costs and provide insights on variances to forecast 

  • Prepare and present monthly Cost of Goods Sold performance analysis to Finance leadership 

  • Develop and deliver monthly management reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior stakeholders 

  • Complete corporate reporting requirements, including sales, profit actuals, and other assigned schedules 

 

Financial Controls & Compliance 

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations, including thorough documentation and resolution of aged items 

  • Monitor and analyze working capital trends, providing insights and recommendations to support business performance 

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and Nestlé Accounting Standards  

 

Planning, Forecasting & Business Analysis 

  • Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts for assigned P&L accounts, including Cost of Goods Sold and freight, and provide detailed variance analysis 

  • Monitor actual results against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities and recommending corrective actions 

  • Deliver insightful reporting and financial commentary to support decision-making across the business 

  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance 

  • Manage the budgeting and planning process for assigned P&L areas, including Cost of Goods Sold and freight expenses 

 

Role Requirements 

  • Prior experience in Accounting or Finance, ideally within a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) with experience with manufacture costing  

  • Completion of, or active pursuit of, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field  

  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting 

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and Power BI 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions. 

  • Strong team player who can work independently while building effective relationships across the organization.

Compensation Range: $103,000.00 CAD - $108,000.00 CAD
