Position Summary

We are seeking an MDO Intern based out of our Mississauga location from May to August 2026. This is an exciting role, supporting Category development and Shopper Marketing initiatives within the Veterinary Channel. You will work with the Veterinary Sales Channel Manager to provide insights on the Pet Category through POS, shopper and consumer data. You will also have the opportunity to bring our marketing programs to life across the shopper’s path-to-purchase. This position is an existing vacancy.

 

A day in the life of a Market Development Organization Intern in the Veterinary Channel

You will work with several data sources to identify shopper/category insights and bring forth key messages to various stakeholders within the organization.  You will also work to develop, execute and analyze veterinary clinic marketing activations, in support of Purina’s Veterinary Diets & Supplements.  

 

You will also:

  • Provide insights on category roles & consumer behaviour through internal & external shopper data.
  • Prepare and analyze data reports to support various projects.
  • Develop new and enhance existing category reports and tools. 
  • Assist in the development and approval of branded creative for Clinic point of sale, display, and eCommerce materials.
  • Prepare and deliver post event reporting on key Shopper Marketing activations.
  • Assist in the development of presentations as required.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve and standardize routine processes.
  • Work with internal support teams and other departments to roll out project recommendations.

 

What will make you successful?

As the successful candidate, you will be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with experience working cross-functionally with sales and marketing.  You will have proven problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to gain insights and develop recommendations. Internally, you will communicate with other employees across the Veterinary Channel, Category Development, Sales and Marketing Managers to obtain, clarify and discuss information required in performing the duties of the job.   

 

You will also be:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Finance, Commerce, Marketing or a related field.
  • A fast learner and proactive problem solver who can generate new ideas/solutions to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and using these tools to present data and aid storytelling.
