POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for scheduling the work activity of the Maintenance and Engineering team. This position prepares efficient and effective work plans for all Preventive, Predictive, Condition-Based, and Project/Backlog Maintenance work; works with the Technical Stores Team to ensure parts are available and ready; ensures internal and external labor resources are available; and coordinates execution of the plan in conjunction with the production schedule through working with the Production Scheduler in a timely manner.  ​Accessing, understanding, and basing decisions on information of all types in the CMMS system is fundamental to the position.

 

The Maintenance Planner also supports the Line Mechanics and Technicians by providing expert guidance and maintains open flow of communication up and down the maintenance chain.  Identifies and escalates problems proactively. This position will also serve as an NCE Facilitator, championing AMM, tracking results, pushing for execution of improvement projects, initiating focused projects based on Maintenance trends, and participating in process improvement initiatives.

 

Responsible for improvements in technical stoppages and eUPS, optimizing M&I costs.

 

Produce limited amount of maintenance schedules deliverables:  Able to do limited analytics based on knowledge of CMMS and data.  Work with maintenance team and other departments to develop maintenance work schedules.

 

Performance Management/Coaching (50%)

  • Create planned work schedule with all resources required for maintenance technician to perform work. Scope of role is planning for up to 20 technicians
  • Leverage maintenance resources to address top losses driving reducdtion of unplanned stoppages
  • Contributor to department technical guidelines, standards, and specifications
  • Manage CMMS Data, ensuring that appropriate information is included such as FLOC, BOM's, PM's, etc. are entered into the CMMS system when a modification, improvement, or addition is made to manufacturing, utilities, and/or other support area equipment.
  • Monitor/Audit Mechanic data entry and quality into SAP/AMM system. Provide support and training as required to ensure meaningful and comprehensive information is available.
  • Evaluate all notifications, working with Maintenance Manager and Mechanics. 
  • Convert to Work Orders or provide feedback to requestors as appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects related to maintenance as assigned by working with operations and engineering alike.

 

  • Implementation of NCE process and systems including PM Pillar and its link to other NCE Modules (AM, GA, EM, etc.)
  • Provide coaching to the factories on zero based budget creation and M&I cost improvement projects.
  • Monitor, Coach and improve the Maintenance and Improvement (M&I) strategy and objectives in the factories/facilities.
  • Active involvement on continuous improvement, networking and sharing information within the M&I community.

 

Analytical Thinking (30%)

  • Monitor work order backlog; schedule backlog work in a timely manner to maintain a reasonable level.
  • Monitor Workorder Completion, Backlog, and Schedule Compliance to ensure health of maintenance systems.
  • Leverage AMM data to improve maintenance plans
  • Generate and distribute KPI, and trend analysis and CMMS reports
  • Active involvement on continuous improvement, networking and sharing information within the M&I community.
  • Coordinates the use of corporate, plant and external engineering resources to ensure alignment with OMP.

 

People Leadership/Development (15%)

  • Build, develop and coach maintenance resources to drive results.
  • Leverage OMP to coordinate activities in maintenance in line with factory and business plans.
  • Align with Factory / market TPM / Maintenance Managers to ensure proper application of NCE Methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain competencies and commitment to achieve the M&I and NCE team’s mission and objectives.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company's values leveraging Nestle Leadership Framework.
  • Deploy training and communicate TPM / NCE / M&I strategies to factory personnel and others as needed

 

Compliance/Risk (5%)

  • Ensure that compliance/risk items are addressed promptly utilizing resources

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Overall strategic goals are reviewed periodically with Factory Engineer.  Supervision received on a daily basis is minimal.  Formal direction is given to this person as the need arises, primarily when changes in the operation occur or when there are changes in policies or procedures.  Periodic reviews are given as well as an annual performance review.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Preferred Bachelors Degree in Engineering or skilled trades certification(s)

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 to 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience

Experience working in AMM (min 2 years)

 

SKILLS: Computer literacy essential; Strong analytical and interpersonal skills; Strong written and presentation skills

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
