Position Summary 
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Intern based at our Montreal location for the months of May to August 2025. This role will be responsible to design, develop and maintain new BI reports and dashboards using the Business Objects WEBi and Power BI tools.
 
A day in the life of an IT Business Intelligence Intern
As a Business Intelligence Intern, you will be working on various projects including designing reports and dashboards that fulfil user needs. 

You will also:

  • Convert SAP-HANA reports to Power BI: Transform existing SAP-HANA reports into Power BI format by understanding their structure and logic and recreating them using Power BI tools.
  • Build visually appealing and interactive Power BI dashboards: Design and develop visually appealing and interactive Power BI dashboards by selecting appropriate visualizations, organizing data, and creating intuitive user interfaces.
  • Gather user requirements and feedback: Engage with users to understand their reporting needs, gather requirements, and continuously gather feedback to improve and enhance the Power BI dashboards.
  • Analyze and validate data: Perform data analysis and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity in the Power BI dashboards, including identifying data quality issues, performing data cleansing and transformation, and conducting validation checks.
  • Provide user support: Assist users in effectively navigating and utilizing the Power BI dashboards by providing support, answering queries, conducting training sessions, and creating user guides to enhance user adoption and proficiency.

 

What will make you successful?
As the successful candidate, you will be highly organised, pro-activity, and enthusiastic towards the projects you complete. You will also:

  • Currently enrolled in a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year undergraduate program in IT, Business Analytics Degree, or Computer Science Program 
  • Fluent in either English and French.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities which demonstrate initiative and leadership.
  • Experience with Digital marketing strategy is an asset.
  • Database Relationships/Modeling: Primary Keys, Understanding One-to-One, One-to-Many, and Many-to-Many etc..
  • A results and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills.
  •  A proactive creative thinker who can generate new ideas/solutions to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Strong computer proficiency (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Fast learner, and must be comfortable working within a dynamic, challenging environment.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with exceptional verbal communication skills. 
  • Desired Power BI dashboard experience;
  • Experience with a data science programming language (R/Python/SQL etc) is considered an asset
