Position Summary

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist based at our Montreal Head Office reporting into the Quality Manager. This role will be responsible for organizing and driving various improvement initiatives and projects within the operation. They will work collaboratively and develop extensive knowledge of processes to analyze the flow of work. The Continuous Improvement Specialist’s tasks involve monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.

A day in the life of...

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will be working on driving continuous improvement, monitoring and maintaining assigned Lean/Cost saving projects and developing the continuous improvement capabilities of the organization.

 

You will also:
•    Proactively identify improvement areas, formalize analysis and findings and seek CRC management validation. Analyze root causes of recurring requests for support and propose measures to address them;
•    In collaboration with the operational teams, conduct research, surveys, interviews and analyze data to gain understanding of operations;
•    Benchmark areas of opportunity with other Nespresso CRC and / or other industries striving to stay ahead of the innovations in the business;
•    When identifying an area of opportunity, develop different strategies to go about it and assess the pros and cons of each of them;
•    Support project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;
•    Define an efficient methodology, planning and governance, highlighting risks and dependencies and defining budget;
•    Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;
•    Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation;
•    Monitor that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
•    Help Quality department identify training needs, based on the report on received requests for support;
•    Propose continuous improvements in the existing processes, recommending new and more efficient ways of working across all CRC tasks (internally and at the outsourcer's), in order to continuously raise the bar and improve the customer journey and lifecycle;
•    Ensure that policies defined by other departments are translated into specific operational procedures with strong focus on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction;                                                                                                                                    
•    Developing and supporting systems to cultivate accountability and recognition of continuous improvement efforts;
•    Working with teams to support the NCE Culture;
•    In coordination with CRC management and reporting manager, defines the KPIs to monitor the impacts;
•    Coordinates the data collection and runs the analyses to measure impact and ROI for the project.
 

What will make you successful

As the successful candidate, we are looking for:

 

•    A degree in continuous improvement and project management or equivalent;
•    Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management, continuous improvement; 
•    A pragmatic approach in its efforts to achieve excellence, flexibility, adaptability and good reactions even under pressure;
•    An ability to work at different organizational levels and support management team;
•    Bilingualism (French and English); 
•    Green/black belt certification or in the process of obtaining it, an asset; 
•    Results oriented;
•    Demonstrate autonomy and rigor;  
•    Good communication skills and demonstrate a strong power of persuasion; 
•    Comfortable using digital tools;
•    Strong understanding and proven use of problem-solving tools and techniques;
•    Strong working knowledge of 5S, Kanban, Direct Observation, Daily and Visual Management and other Lean approaches;
•    Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement / Lean approaches;
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written;
•    Ability to plan, prepare, execute and support Kaizens events throughout their lifecycle;
•    Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;
•    Think creatively and proactively propose solutions with an attention to detail;
•    Work with teams to develop CI opportunities & build effective working relationships throughout the organization;
•    Ability to facilitate meetings with cross site & cross-functional teams;
•    Adaptable and flexible with a can do, positive attitude;
•    Lean Six Sigma certification.
