Position Summary
We are looking for a Demand & Supply Planner (DSP) for Nespresso based at our Montreal location reporting into the Demand & Supply Planner Lead. The Demand and supply planner is responsible for building a demand forecast by SKU (in Short, medium and long term) based on sales history and including the effect of the Sales and Marketing action plan, in accordance with Company policy. The Demand and supply planner performs supply planning activities such as ensuring stock covers are within target, seamless transfer of goods from origin to warehouse, and goods are received timely and accurately. The DSP ensure the interface between the various areas and departments in order to improve customer service and minimize costs.
A day in the life of...
Demand Planning
• Generate periodic predictions based on historical information, using integrated information systems and applying statistical models to the behavior of each SKU in order to ensure the level of detail needed for decision making.
• Maintain updated activity overview (promotions, marketing plans and launching new products), properly timed and quantified from inputs received from Boutiques, E-Com, Trade, Marketing, B2B and Club.
• Check the Forecast Consistency with the objectives of the Company.
• Be a key contributor to the Monthly Business Planning process (MBP) in the market providing insights & risks to the Business for decision making
• Leverage efficient planning (and related processes) to ensure availability of goods and services as a key competitive advantage and to achieve operational targets.
• Review periodic indicator of demand forecast accuracy as calculated by HQ to trigger corrective actions towards continuous improvement of performance.
• Detect and propose opportunities for improvement, particularly as regards procedures for Planning demand and related information systems support in order to contribute to the maximization of the area.
Supply Planning
• Ensure all incoming goods have required Purchase Order (PO).
• Follow receiving in the system and investigate differences. Report variances using the Logistics Complaint Tool Communicate with transport companies to prioritize deliveries and investigate delays when necessary.
• Manage backorder situation and develop recovery plans with suppliers, as well as execute and improve shortage allocation policies to optimize service to customers. Ensure pro-active, timely and accurate availability comments to our customers.
• Follow closely overstocks and slow movers, and take corrective actions in order to optimize working capital.
• Report and explain Demand and supply planning KPI: stock availability, stock cover and forecast accuracy
What will make you successful
•University Degree or equivalent; preferably with a specialization in Supply Chain/Logistics 7+ years at Executive Assistant level in a busy commercial environment
• 5-7 years overall experience in logistic or distribution with at least 2 years experiences as Demand Planner.
• Use of Information Systems and Information Technology
• Planning, Organizing and Controlling of budgets and resources and targets
• Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge.
• Negotiation and influencing skills
• Problem Solving and Decision Making
• Autonomous/independent with the abilities to implement Company policies and guidelines
• Stress resistant and hard worker
• Team Player
• Expertise with Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel)
• Fluent in English and French
