Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Internal Control Analyst based at our Montreal location reporting into the Manager Internal Control. In this role, you will support Internal Controls Manager to develop and maintain an effective internal controls environment within Nespresso Canada through risk assessment, control activities, appropriate communication and continuous monitoring.
A day in the life of...
• Take part to the planning and establishment of an effective internal controls strategy and ensure strategy is executed to ensure business is controlled;
• Assist in managing all stakeholder relations for any internal and external audits. Establishes key relationships with HQ internal and external stakeholders to bring improvements to internal control environment;
• Assist department managers to develop, monitor and maintain an effective internal controls environment;
• Test and report on internal control weaknesses (to local and HQ stakeholders) and follow up/track resolution of control gaps via timely management action plans owned by the business process owners.
• Work with Business process owners as an “internal controls coach and business partner”. This will also assist in embedding controls throughout the organization and ensure that improvement action plans are delivered by process owners;
• Plan and implement periodic internal controls testing of this business environment;
• Assist in coordinating the completion of the annual Risks & Controls Self Assessment (reporting to Nestle Group) and tracks any required improvement action plans;
• Ensure internal and external benchmarking to ensure internal controls environment continues to reflect key business risks and is “fit for purpose”;
• Assist in review of the effectiveness of internal control designand recommend improvements as warranted.
• Assist in assessing systems and security risks and ensure that IT operations are in compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements;
• Support the review, implementation and improvement of key processes, policies and procedures (e.g. stock control, price controls, asset controls, etc.) with the responsible managers;
• Keep updated on current developments affecting internal controls and audit procedures. Provide updates to management as needed and proactively effect corresponding changes in Nespresso internal controls. Proactive approach to follow up on ineffective controls and implementation of improvement plans;
What will make you successful
As the successful candidate, you will be the champion for the brand for our customers so you will need to be passionate, tenacious and results focused along with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. Your already developed experience and/or educational qualifications in a business-related discipline will give you the background you need to properly service our customers. You will also:
• Bachelor‘s Degree in Finance or Accounting;
• Professional designation (CPA, CIA, etc.), or in progress is an asset;
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a related area;
• Strong Client Focus and ability to build strong relationships with the business;
• Strong business acumen;
• Analytical with attention to detail;
• Smart; proven ability to “simplify the complex” ;
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills;
• Strong negotiation skills;
• Strong written and verbal communications and presentations skills; Demonstrated ability to implement change;
• Experience in implementing risk based controls;
• Global and international experiences a plus;
• Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, etc.);
• Bilingualism (French and English);
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suite Office;
• Experience of a range of ERPs an advantage;
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
