Position Summary 
We are looking for a Retail Supply planner based at our Montreal location reporting into the Demand & Supply Planning Manager. The Retail Supply Planner will plan, control and execute the replenishment of all Nespresso Boutiques including Self-serve options/services in the Canadian market.  The planner will act as supply chain liaison for all Boutiques from planning to communications and questions with a focus on the optimization of boutique supply chain/ logistics related operations driving inventory accuracy, supporting sales opportunities and reduction of bad goods and freight costs, together with streamlining overall processes.

 

A day in the life of a Retail Supply Planner

Maximize product availability for his/her scope of boutiques while maintaining established stock levels.
•    Plan optimal product replenishment orders for each Boutique location based on business promotional plan, allocations and baseline sales
•    Assess marketing forecasts and provide insights on trends as well challenge when pertinent to secure proper planning, inventory and execution. 
•    Determine stock level targets for each boutique given their unique combination of sales volumes and physical layout
•    Daily analysis of boutique sales and promotional effects to determine allocation quantities and replenishment needs. If there are allocations, ensure that boutiques do not exceed their allocations.
•    Compile sales results at the end of each promotion and develop post-mortem analyses to improve the flow of stock for future promotions also ensuring actions are defined and taken for any leftover stocks
•    Collaborate with Demand and Supply Planners to anticipate all stock issues to plan appropriate replenishment strategies to avoid out of stocks.
•    Communicate with Boutiques, Retail Operations and RBMs on potential risks and issues also providing solutions and options to mitigate it.
•    Monitor stock levels on a weekly basis and challenge boutique managers when stock levels are not respected or not properly aligned
•    Plan, monitor and manage the replenishment of RFID tags for boutiques with Self-Selection Service Systems (SSS) and analyse sales specific to SSS versus assisted boutique sales
•    Accountable for mapping RFID tags to each required product and maintaining the database up to date with SSS 3rd party vendor

 

Plan and optimize Boutique replenishment schedules to optimize preparation and freight costs.
•    Take into account boutique geographical considerations for delivery needs (Urban setting vs Mall vs HBC presence), define delivery window based on mall requirements.
•    Depending on sales volumes and physical size, calculate the appropriate number of inventory turns to calculate the appropriate replenishment schedule.
•    Continuous review of replenishment strategy considering baseline growth and peak season.
•    Work with boutique to optimize boutique storage space and layout, and maximize capacity
•    Work closely with Physical Logistics, Transport, 3PL & carriers on orders dropping and delivery schedules from planning to execution. 
•    Communicate and address issues with all relevant teams as needed focusing on resolution and corrective actions.

 

Follow up deliveries for his/her scope of boutiques:
•    Manage boutique logistic activities with local 3PL partner to ensure respect of Service Level Agreements
•    Support boutiques for any issue regarding deliveries. Follow up with the 3PL or transportation company to determine root cause and challenge when necessary
•    Adjust stock in boutiques in case of short/over shipment and challenge boutiques when discrepancies do not balance to improve overall inventory KPI
•    Define action plans and provide best practices for inventory receiving process for boutiques facing challenges
•    Develop corrective measures with our 3PL in regard to logistics underperformance
•    Lead trainings for boutique staff with consistent underperformance

 

Enforce logistics procedures and best practices within Boutiques 
•    Review and challenge monthly inventory results.
•    Assist in the implementation of action plans and share best practice for improved inventory management
•    Lead trainings on boutique related logistics and inventory processes
•    Monitor boutique receiving and stock adjustment movements in Nessoft. Highlight gaps on a daily basis and challenge boutiques on inconsistencies.

 

Calculate key performance indicators on a weekly or Monthly basis:
•    Ensure that KPI’s are done on time. Update the KPI Dashboard on a monthly basis. 
•    Provide and challenge the appropriate KPI for the Monthly review with 3PL.
•    Communicate KPI with boutiques and retail team and develop corrective measures for improvement
•    Make proposition to improve the overall process of boutique replenishment and develop training materials

 

Compliance / Ethics
•    Ensure compliance with Nestlé Corporate Business Principles and Procurement Policies including the Nestlé 7 steps sourcing approach –Procurement roles
•    Ensure compliance to Nestle / Nespresso Health and Safety requirement for self and team
•    Ensure compliance with Nestlé Corporate Business Principles and Supply Chain & Procurement Policies.
•    Ensure compliance to Nestle / Nespresso Internal Control Standards and Quality System requirements and support all audit requirement
•    Ensure business ethics and integrity within the Supply Chain /procurement function.

Bachelor’s degree with preferred specialization in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations 
5 to 7 years’ experience of having worked in a similar capacity retail environment. With minimum 2-3 years in demand /supply planning
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint - advanced)
Power BI
Experience with an ERP
Bilingualism in English and French, as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market (and/or globally).
