What to Expect:
The Senior Demand & Supply Planner will be accountable for ensuring strong forecast accuracy to enable best-in-class customer service levels, optimized stock levels, and delivery of products on-time and in-full, while minimizing non-quality costs. This role will utilize rigorous analysis on forecast performance and work internally to drive initiatives that will enable the business to efficiently deliver on customer demand, drive efficiency in the supply chain and enable optimum on-shelf availability.
A day in the life of a Senior Demand & Supply Planner
- Lead and facilitate the preparation for Monthly Forecast Reviews (MFR) with reviews with Commercial Teams (CRM/Marketing/B2C/B2B/ Finance) to deliver an unbiased and unconstrained view of the demand to support operational planning and the MFR Process with a goal of achieving a recommendation or escalation
- Responsible to ensure full meeting preparation; presentation of consolidated and accurate information along with well-articulated messaging to support and drive right discussion, decisions and actions
- Identify & frame risks, opportunities and any critical business decisions and escalate up through the MFR process to drive decision-making
- Initiate and develop strong relationships with cross functional partners in order to build intimate knowledge of the business and be viewed as a trusted, credible advisor to teams they support
- Act as a change agent/leader; leveraging relationships, functional skills and understanding process to support MBR to facilitate change and drive sustainable process and business improvements
- Participate and actively contribute to all facets of the MFR/Supply Chain processes and meetings; this includes, weekly Supply Reviews, Integrated Marketing Reviews, CS Service Reviews, etc.
- Taking pro-active measures in minimizing high inventory and in stock issues at DC level Evaluate and measure forecast accuracy and bias results against objectives/plan; leverage results with the organization in order to drive corrective action
- Lead/facilitate forecasting process changes & continuous improvement initiatives with demand planning and cross functional teams
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes to increase efficiency through scalable solutions that improve forecast accuracy and hence customer service levels
- Ensure stock cover and increase product availability, analyze and evaluate the supply plan and net dispatch requirements
- Manage portfolio and lifecycle, collaborate with cross functional teams to manage portfolio lifecycle, such as new product launches, packaging changes, phase-in/phase-out, and product discontinuation.
- Ensure Item master setup and discontinuation are properly reflected to drive operational processes.
Role Requirements
- Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement, as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market and worldwide.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance (business planning/Dynamic forecasting) or Mathematics, required.
- 5-7 years of progressive and successful supply chain experience, preferably in demand planning.
- Knowledge and understanding of the CPG industry and commercial environment are definite assets.
- Experience of having worked in a similar capacity in a retail environment with an international company would be an advantage.
- Computer literate (Advanced Excel, Power point and reporting tools such as Power BI, any Business Intelligence)
- Preliminary experience with a demand statistical tool is an asset (SAS, SAP/APO, OMP, etc.)
- Must be a team player, with excellent communication skills, and demonstrate ability to work effectively across all functions and levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
