Position Summary

Position Summary: Responsible for the supporting all agricultural related activities in the production of raw product (pumpkin) for processing. Support the management of financial budgets and capital expenditures. Support all agricultural harvest operations at the Morton facility.

Primary Responsibilities: Establish recommended pricing for contracting grower acreage. Support quality control sampling of soil before signing grower contracts. Scouting of fields for Integrated Pest Management, IPM. Support harvest operations. Support capital projects and budgetary control with identified savings. Communicate with growers about cultural practices. Provide training for harvest equipment operators. Support seed saving operations at the Morton facility. Support procurement of hybrid seed production. Pursue securing new chemicals for disease, weed and insect control which are being researched for use on pumpkin. Administer policies/procedures in a manner conducive to positive employee relations while promoting safety awareness. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Education: Working toward an undergraduate degree in the areas of Agriculture, Engineering, Food Science, or Operations Management (Manufacturing) with previous exposure to engineering fundamentals. Maintaining a GPA of 2.75 and above (preferred). Have strong communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal skills, and are self-starters. Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving skills. Open to working in a factory environment.
