Industrial Maintenance Tech - Job Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician – Ammonia Operator is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial refrigeration systems utilizing ammonia. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while supporting production operations through effective maintenance practices.
Industrial Maintenance Tech – Working Hours:
This role is on a 2 – 2 – 3 working schedules, which means you will be required to work on every other weekend!
Industrial Maintenance Tech – Compensation:
The approximate hourly pay for this position is $29.50. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.

Industrial Maintenance Tech - Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and piping systems.
- Conduct daily system checks, log readings, and ensure proper system performance.
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot refrigeration issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and IIAR standards for ammonia systems.
- Assist in emergency response procedures for ammonia leaks or system failures.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records in CMMS.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support operational needs.
- Participate in safety training and maintain certifications as required.
Industrial Maintenance Tech - Qualifications:
- Technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- EPA Section 608 Certification and RETA certification (CARO or CIRO) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
Industrial Maintenance Tech - Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to safety guidelines.
