Opportunity currently exist for a Section Manager to join our Nestlé Quality Assurance Centre (NQAC) team in Mulgrave, Victoria. In this role you will be responsible for day to day operation of the chemistry section of our regional laboratory ensuring samples received from our Factories in Oceania region are tested in a timely and accurate manner and per Nestlé, ISO 17025, TGA/GMP requirements. This role entails supervising a team of eight chemistry analysts.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

 

  • Primary responsibility for planning and supervising the daily operation in Chemistry section to ensure that service expectations on Turn Around Time and Result Reliability are met.
  • Responsible for the implementation and regular update of analytical portfolio by new method implementation or matrix extension in accordance with business needs ensuring full compliance to TGA/PICS, ISO17025, Regulatory and Nestlé Standards.
  • Responsible for the correct functioning of the laboratory, including personnel safety, equipment capabilities, analytical  quality control and escalation of analytical or operational issue to NQAC Manager as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement via Audits & Inspections of Nestlé Factory, Co Manufacturers, Private Contract Laboratories in Oceania Region.
  • Responsible for the cost-efficient functioning of the section through cost control and efficiency improvement initiatives using Lean Laboratory Mind-set.
  • Perform technical tasks on the bench as and when needed.
     
ARE YOU A FIT?

 

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team player and supervisor with a history of delivering results in a high pressure and dynamic environment.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Chemistry, Food Technology or other related fields)
  • Previous supervisory experience in a Commercial or Food Laboratory in an ISO 17025, TGA, FDA testing environment.
  • Knowledge of Equipments used in food nutritional panel testing such as GC, HPLC, ICP-OES is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Method Validation and Laboratory Equipment Qualification procedures is highly desirable.

 

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency.
