Environmental Project Engineer, this is your challenge:

 

Bring Nestlé Nunspeet to the next level in energy efficiency and deliver improvements with a positive return to society and the environment. 

 

You are self-motivated & service oriented in identifying, prioritizing, preparing, and implementing projects. You could be involved in process optimizations with our production experts or lead improvements on our factory utilities to reduce steam, ice-water, water and electrical consumption. 

 

You are looking forward to driving multiple projects flexibly and with a high degree of autonomy to ensure they are implemented within a running factory environment - fast - efficiently - and well aligned with the daily work of the operations & quality teams! 

 

You will be part of the project engineering team, an experienced team within Nestlé and the food industry. The responsibility to deliver will be with you, the support you’ll need will come from us & our global network!

 

Tasks of an Environmental Project Engineer:  

  • Define the improvement opportunities with the environmental measurement systems available and complete these where needed;
  • Align possible solutions with experts across Nestlé and benefit from our global hands-on experience and references;
  • Develop the Nestlé Nunspeet environmental project masterplan with key internal stakeholders according sometimes competing requirements and timeline of overall factory projects & priorities;
  • Prepare and implement planned projects and closeout these with a demonstrated improvement within scope, time and budget;
  • Work closely with the Safety, Health and Environmental Department to educate and drive environmental consciousness with employees and how they can make a difference;
  • Respect and follow the rules according occupational & food safety, environment and hygiene and ensure these are followed by suppliers, contractors, visitors;
  • Ensure that all assets are well designed according to legal and internal rules (i.e. plant layout, equipment selection etc.) and fit for purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and basic science.

These are the requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar;
  • Open to newcomers, 3 to 6 years’ experience in a similar function and industry is a plus;
  • Experience in managing projects, for newcomers bring an example from outside of work;
  • Strong communication skills, curiosity to learn and understand working in a complex environment;
  • Intrinsic drive for solutions with a flexible and pragmatic approach to challenges;
  • Good control of the English and Dutch language.
