Position Summary

You will support the coffee program regional manager as a trusted co-pilot on day to day and long-term strategic view in delivering the coffee sustainability targets of the region. The main priorities will focus on: managing the sourcing capacity of the region and steer the yearly target delivery via a strategic performance based sourcing; provide visibility around regional status of coffee sustainability target and budget (status and projection) and orchestrate key transformative projects and lighthouses.

 

A day in the life of a Coffee Strategic Planning Manager

 

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Act as the co- pilot of the regional coffee program manager:
    • Co-Lead the operational strategy in line with coffee global strategy at regional and country level
    • Consolidate data and scenario to support decision making in multi stakeholders’ meetings
    • Consolidate insights from strategic transformative projects and escalate to HQ
    • Gather intelligence on the region: Risks (deforestation, human rights, gender), opportunities, volume, farmgate price ...
    • Equip the team with consolidated dashboards for strategic planning

 

  • Implement performance-based sourcing and consolidate learnings on key lighthouse initiatives:
    • Implement the performance-based sourcing strategy, smooth deployment of digital traceability and control achievements of supplier’s targets
    • Oversee the coffee supplier’s performance on ESG topics
    • Secure the seamless execution of budget and target cycles with HQ team
    • Ensure sustainability excellence with UpToDate reference documents to be used for audits
    • Create and/or contribute to strategic communication assets of coffee flagships (initiatives, product ranges).
  • Innovate and Fund:
    • Contribute to business cases development in collaboration with HQ, with tangible considerations from the field and supply chain structure.
    • Identify funding opportunities, design and implement when possible.
    • Consolidate the learnings of test and learn with pilot projects.
  • Management and Engagement:
    • Chair the monthly operational review and represent the region during HQ meetings.
    • Ensure efficiencies with Nestlé coffee brands local strategy in alignment with global approach.
    • Support the regional manager with local institutions engagement and advocacy.
    • Activate when relevant LinkedIn Posts on key outcome /events in the region.
