We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Engineer, to join our Nestle Waters team based at our Princes Gate production facility in Narberth, Pembrokeshire.

Your Impact
The Shift Engineer is responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency of machinery, ensuring safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in production processes. This role plays a crucial part in minimising downtime and enhancing productivity within the manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Maintain the basic condition of machines, perform improvement activities, and repair breakdowns to ensure operational continuity.
- Fault Recognition and Prevention: Identify and rectify faults that may affect equipment across different disciplines, ensuring safety and preventing repetitive issues.
- Process Analysis and Improvement: Analyse production methods and engineering procedures to recommend enhancements that boost efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
- Proactive Maintenance Support: Support the implementation of maintenance programs focused on improving safety, reliability, productivity, and reducing maintenance costs.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that quality standards are upheld and monitored throughout operations, while completing necessary health, safety, and environmental (HSE) documentation as per legal and company standards.
Your ingredients for success
You will be a qualified engineer with a continuous improvement mindset and a proven ability for driving efficiency and maintaining high safety and quality standards. Proven experience in the FMCG sector, manufacturing, or production environments is preferred.
- Educational Qualifications: Minimum educated to apprenticeship level NVQ 3 or hold a recognized engineering qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Motivation and Enthusiasm: Self-motivated individual who consistently applies energy and enthusiasm to the job.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Possesses the skills and knowledge to identify root causes of problems and develop plans to reduce or eliminate them.
- Decision-Making Ability: Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
- Resource Planning and Teamwork: Proven ability to plan resources and priorities effectively, while maintaining effective working relationships with all team members.
