Position Summary

The Front-End Developer manages standalone applications for market initiatives which improve performance of the Nespresso US eCommerce responsive site. They will liaise with another front-end developer and the US market and Headquarters in Switzerland (peer-programming) for all technical eCommerce projects. Projects will be tied to Nespresso global roadmap, local initiatives, and daily operations. As an eCommerce Operations team member, they will report to Site Operations Manager and work in a growing team – four Content Producers and one Front End Developer.

 

Drive US market web development to increase membership and conversion

- Advise on technical landing page development (HTML, CSS, JS), ensuring all Nespresso design/technical guidelines are followed by design-development agency, are ADA compliant, and follow industry best practices (responsive frameworks/designs)

- Experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks (React, Vue or Angular)

- Familiarity with node applications and build tools (webpack, rollup)

- Understand basic server responses, network request (HTML), CSS and pre-processors (SASS), JS, (ES6+)

- Drive development of A/B test implementations in Google Optimize or other A/B Testing tools.

- Collaborate with Content Producer/Webmasters

- Identify unrealized opportunities/risks as part of rollouts/launches

 

Manage daily performance of eCommerce platforms

- Support Platform stability of Nespresso.com and Nespresso app.

- Ensure a fast, updated, optimized bug free user experience on all eCommerce platforms, following International eBusiness guidelines

- Developing React based web-application for master site. Flag risks of front-end workarounds implemented.

   * Support resolution of bugs and enhancements by managing internal backlog deliverables in alignment with Development Lead.

 

Contribute to team leading site optimizations

- Work with teams to solve for issues affecting conversion rate, new member activation, or product/platform availability

- Execute initiatives on the eCommerce roadmap in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders

   * Contribute to project documentation; following best practices, ensuring business continuity

- Understand User Acceptance Testing process; streamlining and finding efficiencies

- Contribute to a growing team, ways of working and knowledge share across internal network

 

Education

- College degree preferred

- Front-end web development preferred

 

Experience

- 1 to 2 years' experience in eCommerce platforms and content management systems (SAP Hybris or similar), including App, strongly preferred

- 1 to 2 years' experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript

- TypeScript experience a plus

- Experience in A/B testing, personalization, SEO optimization

- Strong communication and organized
