Position Summary

Develop, maintain and improve a Demand Plan for a specific business category (Coffee, Machine, or Accs), across all business channels. Ensure the alignment of this Demand Plan with internal and external partners through the Monthly Business Planning and Collaborative Planning processes. Identify and manage exceptions, and monitor performance in order to continually improve the quality and reliability of the Demand Plan and the Company’s ability to sense and respond to changing circumstances. Planners will use the analytical, marketing, and sales data of a company to effectively estimate future product demands. Their duties include planning inventory flow, analyzing statistical data, and generating forecasting solutions. .

 

Create Statistical Forecast:

  • Synthesize information and assumptions about events, activities in relation to promotions, product launches, 
  • customer/distribution changes. Translate that data to business driving activites incorprated into demand plan 
  • forecasting 
  • Demand planner has detailed knowledge to be able to generate and maintain statistical forecasts. Combining 
  • incremental, impactors, any new business nuances the Demand Planner is responsible to finalize the total volume 
  • forecast - 
  • Monthly cadence to collaborate and collect input from Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance to adjust the 
  • forecast and reach consensus with all parties 
  • Focus on business strategy to determine specific category and product behaviors to build foundation for 
  • inventory strategies. 
  • Responsible for maximizing sales and profit through proper planning and execution of inventory placement. 
  • Recommend and implement portfolio edit

 

Manage Portfolio Lifecycle:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage portfolio lifecycle, such as new product launches, packaging 
  • changes, phase-in/phase-out, and product discontinuation. Ensure that demand is appropriately forecasted and 
  • maintained in all circumstances. Ensure that Demand plans incorporate all business strategies and nuances. 
  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to minimize product destruction
  • Drive consensus through Monthly Business Planning processes:
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive effective MBP processes to reach consensus demand plan. This 
  • becomes a primary input to the Dynamic Forecast

 

Data Analysis and Reporting: 

  • Run reporting on forecast accuracy, forecast bias and forecast evolution. Improve forecast accuracy by analyzing 
  • forecast error, recommending and implementing appropriate action plans. Explore and experiment new ways of 
  • utilizing data and statistical methods to enhance the quality of demand forecast and generate high value business 
  • insights within and beyond DSP. Develop and maintain reports to track and monitor the statistical forecasts, alerts 
  • for corrections/improvements and other analytical insights

 

Education: 
Bachelors degree required; in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, preferred Or equivalent work experience. 

 

Experience: 
5+ years of Professional experience in Supply Chain required. Preferable in a Planner role. 
Advance Excel, required; Cognos or SQL experience preferred 
Inventory management & Forecasting experience required
Strong analytical and statistical skills
