Position Summary:
The Shopper Marketing Director leads marketing efforts to grow the Nespresso brand and increase market penetration in the US market across distant channels, focusing heavily on B2B (including distributors, HORECA, and office environments), Trade/Shopper (3rd party retailers) and Retail marketing (owned Nespresso boutiques). Leverages industry insights, marketing best-practices and cross-functional approach while partnering closely with global Marketing organization to drive consistency of positioning and messaging, balanced with local relevance. Find synergies across channels to deepen consumer understanding of the brand in order to drive consideration, conversion and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Channel Marketing
- Develop and oversee the implementation of a cross-channel marketing strategy to build and enhance the Nespresso brand in distant and third-party channels (B2B, Trade, and Retail), creating category differentiation
- Serve as a brand steward, ensuring consistent and engaging experiences are delivered across all channels on behalf of the Nespresso brand (spanning paid, owned or earned activations)
- Work collaboratively across the organization to develop and deploy brand-building strategies, ensuring Channel Marketing plans are supporting Sales initiatives, aligned with B2C Marketing, and fully integrated from an end-to-end perspective
- Measure impact of engagement efforts to build scale and identify opportunities for greater efficiencies
B2B Marketing & Sales Enablement
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of NesPro customers and competition, serving as an internal expert on the category and leveraging insights to define key messages and campaigns
- Collaborate with NesPro sales teams to conceptualize and create best-in-class, data-driven, custom marketing programs for NesPro brand and its largest customers and partners
- Serve as the Marketing liaison and customer-facing lead in key Sales pitches and custom presentations to help drive acquisition while also developing relationships with key customers to help with retention
- Liaise with NesPro Global (HQ) Marketing team to translate global strategies into local activations that drive impact in brand-building and sales
- Partner with NesPro product marketing to create impactful campaigns for all product launches
- Collaborate with functional experts across the organization to bring key NesPro marketing messages to life through paid, owned, and earned channels (paid media, social media, PR, events/experiential, CRM, etc.)
Shopper & Retail Marketing
- Oversee the development of unified, strategic shopper marketing plans ensuring they are aligned with brand objectives and customized by channel and where relevant, addresses individual Trade Account needs
- Harness innovation opportunities in a way that's on-brand and a win-win for Nespresso and Trade Accounts
- Support collaboration with Nestle Coffee Partners and Starbucks by Nespresso executions at Trade, harmonizing business impact and brand realities in partnership with global Marketing teams
- Deeply understand nuances of physical and digital shopping habits, working with Data & Insights where necessary, to create differentiation at shelf (owned and third party)
Team Coaching & People Development
- Manage and mentor the newly-formed Channel Marketing team, supporting unique needs of each sub-team while also finding synergies and harmony across activations and plans
- Exemplify Nestle Leadership Behaviors and Nespresso Marketing Team behaviors in actions and words.
- Attract and retain talent and develop the personal effectiveness of employees by regular coaching and implementation of learning activities.
- Set individual performance goals that provide a clear line of sight to organizational priorities and monitor progress towards achievement of goals by use of the PDP methodology.
- Build the Nespresso culture by promoting and supporting a happy, healthy and safe working environment that encourages safety, teamwork, ambition and a high level of professionalism.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required (Graduate degree / MBA preferred).
- At least 10-12 years experience in Marketing Leadership
- B2B, Trade or other channel marketing experience required. Experience with multi-channel businesses strongly preferred.
- Direct B2B marketing experience preferred.
- Worked for an organization with leading brands and a strong commercial mindset
- People Management experience required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and project management skills.
- Excellent people skills, able to foster relationships quickly and manage multiple senior stakeholders; comfortable presenting to and working alongside senior management.
- Ability to oversee and track multiple projects with due dates and varying requirements and priorities.
The approximate pay range for this position is $185,000 to $225,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
