Job Summary:
As the Director of Strategic Planning, your mission will be to build a strategic portfolio for North America that not only expands our market presence but also unlocks the potential for cross-market innovation platforms. As the leader of the Market Business Strategy execution and North America Market integration, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our organization. This role will be based in our New York City headquarters, working a hybrid blend of in office & work from home. The candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater NYC Metro area.

 

Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Orchestrate the Market Business Strategy (MBS) execution, deployment and enhancement.

  • Own Must Win Battle dashboard framework, secure quarterly updates to fuel QBR discussions and facilitate alignment with Management Committee when relevant.
  • Lead US Quarterly Business Review meetings with Executive Leadership Team (ELT): align the agenda, lead preparation sessions with key stakeholders, facilitate the meeting, create an executive summary capturing key takeaways and topics requiring escalation to US Management Committee or Headquarters
  • Support executive leadership team with Headquarters QBR preparation leveraging insights from both US QBR and Management Committee. 
  • Lead QBR updates cascading to the commercial team and the CEO quarterly address to the broader organization,
  • Facilitate cross functional strategic discussions – work closely with Management Committee to identify business opportunities and challenges that cannot be addressed within the QBR forum and require dedicated deep dives, lead cross functional working sessions and define potential impacts on existing MBS plan and framework.
  • Lead a yearly “MBS refresh” and scenario planning: to review progress vs prior MBS, challenge assumptions & Must Win Battle framework leveraging new market trends, latest innovation and Headquarter expectations
  • Drive Monthly Management Committee meeting: align the agenda and coordinate operational updates with OMNI Integration team, Lead ManCom Operational Review (MOR) and support KPIs alignment with ELT.

 

North America Market Integration

  • Lead the development and deployment of the North America Market business framework and related core business planning activities: Define the Nespresso Business Performance Framework and Top Priorities for North America Market and its Markets, Ensure North America Market and its Markets develop business roadmaps aligned to the Company's strategic framework, Facilitate the review of the business plans at leadership team level
  • Track and monitor the execution of the North America Market business framework to ensure both the content and the spirit of the plan by Market are being implemented: Implement Goal Alignment at North America Market leadership team level, Deliver and regularly update the North America Market Operational Master Planning (OMP) focusing on the Company's top priorities including key measures, milestones and activities, Facilitate and animate North America Market Operational Reviews at leadership team level
  • Accelerate business performance through defined Nestlé methods adapted to Nespresso specificities: Design and adapt the Goal Alignment framework for the North America Market and its Markets, Align the Goal Alignment roadmap across North America Market and its Markets
  • Identify and propose cross-market opportunities to achieve greater growth and investment, while balancing efficiencies
     

Build North America Market strategic portfolio to expand company’s market presence: 

  • Lead strategic commercial innovation platforms, as aligned during the Operational Planning, create and validate the business case, build a project plan, manage external partners, lead cross functional meetings and deliver a comprehensive handover plan to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Create & deliver trainings focused on Innovation capabilities and mindset, for ex: design thinking, 
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer with other markets and business units
  • “Bring the outside in” by: Engaging consumer facing teams in sharing their ideas and inspirations guided by B-Corp framework, Connecting with external stakeholders and attending key industry events to identify future growth and innovation opportunities
  • Culture and Organization
  • Develop a vision and core values for the team
  • Craft long and short term goals for the team based on business needs and role of team in driving Nespresso to be best in class brand
  • Hire and retain top talent 
  • Coach and develop team skill sets

 

Key Experiences:

  • 10-15 years business experience strategy development, planning, marketing and/or commercial operations
  • Management Consulting experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business required, MBA strongly preferred
  • Cross-functional and multi-cultural experience
  • Significant experience in stakeholder management and working with senior management
  • Experience in leading or participating in change management programs
  • Proven track record in delivering business projects
  • Experience of creating a positive working culture, enabling empowerment and development of people

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $195,000 to $220,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
