Position Summary

 

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and deploying all data feeds and structures within the Nespresso US Azure environment. They will deliver the company's data science infrastructure and real-time personalization goals. Collaborating with the business, they will design data models ensuring performance and data accuracy.  Additionally, they will create transformation automations for Machine Learning (ML) modeling, data visualization, and BI tools. The Senior Data Engineer has a critical role in enabling audience-based targeting and analytics.  They will work closely with the Data Capabilities Manager to prioritize data feeds, develop stakeholder use cases, and manage shifting priorities. 

 

Data Lake SME
- Develop and maintain data models for holistic business reporting, automated dashboard builds and advanced analytics to empower data driven decision making
- Expertise analyzing data and data structures, designing and building database schemas to support secure data acquisition, data cleansing and blending, data storage, analysis and modeling
- Ensure data architecture is optimal for performance and future growth. Experience handling structured and unstructured data (text & images)

 

Project Management
- Manage competing timelines and priorities; understands business needs and strategic impact of projects
- Build project plans and timelines to ensure on-time delivery
- Evaluate risks and hedge accordingly

 

Stakeholder Management
- Translates business needs into detailed requirements for technical teams.
- Communicates data management process in non-technical language

 

Data Security
- Ensures all data feeds and storage comply with Nestlé data security standards
- Manage user groups to preserve appropriate data security levels

 

Dashboard Development:
- Transform data into data layers allowing stakeholders to create basic reporting
- Design and develop advanced dashboards in Power BI that aggregate data sources for holistic views of the business
- Use consulting skills, business knowledge, and reporting expertise to support the business achieving their expected results. Delivers state-of-the-art information consumable by the business in clearly structured and user-focused reports.

 

EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's Degree required. Studies in Computer Science, Statistics or similar field preferred.
• 3+ years professional technology experience
• 2+ years data engineering / data-intensive development experience
• Expertise in structured data; apply methods and technologies addressing data architecture, integration, and governance of data
• Experience in database concepts, data modeling; data integration including design and architecture
• Experience working with Databricks platform
• Advanced skills in Python, R, SQL other scripting languages
• Knowledge of IaaS and SaaS systems (Salesforce, Attentive, SurveyMonkey, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of data pipeline creation (Azure preferred)
• Experience with Big Data technologies (BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
• Experience with BI and data visualization tools (Power BI, etc.)
• Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, and/or natural language processing. Some experience with predictive modeling preferred
• Strong project management skills required; manages competing and parallel project demands
• Familiarity with marketing data sources and their use cases
