Job Description: 

The Senior Data Engineering Specialist (Digital Teams – Customer Data Platform) will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting all data feeds/structures and how they relate to Nespresso USA's CDP (Customer Data Platform). This role is responsible for monitoring all data feeds, ensuring performance and accuracy of data, and creating transformation automations as needed, as well as designing data connections and models within the CDP based on the needs of the business. This role will also work closely with the Data Capabilities Manager on prioritization of data feeds, developing use cases to meet stakeholder needs and managing shifting priorities. This is a hybrid-based role that will work 1-2 days/week at the New York City office (Manhattan) and the rest remotely. 
 

Responsibilities: 

Segment Customer Data Platform Expertise 

•    Responsible for developing and maintaining data integrations, data models, reporting connections, and audiences to be utilized by the Digital Commerce, Media and CRM/CXM teams. 
•    Have expertise in coding & programming methods for creating data integrations and data structures within a CDP context, as well as the design and building of relevant data schemas to support a wide range of strategies for secure data ingestion, transformation, automation, reporting & modeling.
•    Ensure that the CDP integrations are optimal for performance and future growth. 
•    Familiar with techniques for handling a wide variety of data types and structures.

Project Management 

•    Manage competing timelines and priorities. Responsible for understanding business needs and strategic impact of projects. 
•    Build project timelines and project plans to manage key stakeholders and interim deadlines for on-time delivery.
•    Evaluate potential risks and hedge accordingly.

Stakeholder Management 

•    Responsible for translating business needs into detailed requirements for technical teams. 
•    Responsible for communicating data management process into non-technical language.
•    Perform additional duties and special tasks as assigned by their direct Manager. 

Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Software or Data Engineering, Computer Science or in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. 
•    3+ of experience working as a Data or Software Engineer, primarily working in a Martech, eCommerce or Digital Engineering role required. 
•    2+ years working with JavaScript, Azzure and SQL required.  
•    Must have experience working in Agile Product Management, with a strong preference for utilizing CDP tools such as Segment, PloomReach, Telium and or other CDP tools). 
•    Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) required. 
•    Must have excellent Project Management skills with the ability to manage competing and parallel project demands working with different stakeholders (i.e.: Sales, Marketing and IT). 
•    Must have excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, presentation and stakeholder management skills (with the ability to build and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships). 
•    Work experience working within various Marketing disciplines including: customer segmentation, Email/SMS programs, or other data or digital channels required.
•    Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage project timelines required. 
•    Knowledge of coding languages including Python a plus. 
•    Willing and able to travel up to 5% based on the needs of the team and the business. 

The approximate pay range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
