Position Summary

 

As a Transportation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing a deep understanding of our systems and processes. This knowledge will enable you to effectively analyze problems, write requirements and process flows, provide valuable data insights, and coordinate cross-team efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor the in-transit small parcel freight, with the aim of enhancing key transportation metrics.


In this role, you will proactively anticipate issues, attend to exceptions, and work closely with Customer Service to de-escalate situations. Additionally, you will be instrumental in identifying and addressing the root causes of delivery problems, ensuring timely resolutions.


Your work will involve close collaboration with various teams, including Logistics Supervisors, Managers, and the D&SP Manager within the SC&P Team. You will also engage with multiple departments within Nespresso USA. Furthermore, you will liaise with our 3PL partners, including Logistics & Distribution, Tracking Wizard, and Freight Auditing.


By leveraging your expertise and collaborating with these stakeholders, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our transportation operations. Your efforts will help drive improvements in key metrics, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure smooth delivery processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Treat exceptions such as inaccurate addresses, refusals, damages, weather-related incidents, mechanical issues, etc.
  • Take action on trending late and overdue shipments in collaboration with the COE and CRC to de-escalate situations and enhance customer satisfaction. Recommend corrective solutions to decrease customer complaints.
  • Create, publish, and maintain an internal user manual for network monitoring tools.
  • Develop and maintain internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transport customer service.
  • Attend meetings with individual last-mile carriers to ensure compliance and a consistent customer delivery experience.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve key supply chain metrics. Address gaps and opportunities with last-mile partners to enhance the accuracy of event notifications and performance. Analyze and identify root causes of late deliveries.
  • Maintain carrier financials. Collaborate with transportation operations to identify and address complaints, implement continuous improvement measures, and track remediation efforts.
  • Manage and oversee carrier allocation, troubleshooting any network anomalies. Perform analysis and scorecard evaluations against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Own and manage carrier forecasting, providing monthly communication.
  • Provide data and analytics to support strategic supply chain decisions. Oversee data reporting from our freight audit provider. Maintain and report on the carrier allocation tool. Regularly generate and present weekly and monthly transportation reports, sharing insights and improvement suggestions.
  • Create, publish, and maintain internal dashboards for key transportation metrics.

 

Experience & Education Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Supply Chain.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in Supply Chain and Logistics.
  • Previous experience in 3rd Party Warehousing or reverse logistics is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and gathering business requirements.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency in Excel (advanced skills) and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in database management with ERP/OMS/TMS systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with PowerBI will be highly beneficial.
  • Thrives and excels in high-pressure situations.

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Exhibits exceptional skill in effectively managing stakeholders.
  • Result-oriented with a strong service orientation.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to schedules.

 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
