Compensation Range: $134,216-176,500 per annum

What to Expect:

Reporting into the Head of Operations and as a member of the senior operations leadership team, you will focus on protecting and enhancing the safety of all Nestle Canada employees with a focus on prevention, fostering a culture where safety is ingrained as a core value by everyone. You will advise the Operations Leader on all aspects of Safety with a strong focus on implementing national-level initiatives, including developing & driving site initiatives leading to continuous improvement in Safety performance in line with the Nestlé Continuous Excellence mindset of zero accidents and incidents. Note: This position is an existing vacancy.

 

A day in the life:

  • Direct and co-ordinate the development and implementation of the Corporate Safety strategy & program.
  • Recommend and is accountable to meet corporate Safety objectives considering local and global objectives. 
  • Monitor and communicate on performance to improve decision making regarding Safety and work directly with all business and site leads to integrate Safety into business decisions.
  • Implement, control, maintain and improve the Corporate Safety Management systems including achieving and maintaining OHSAS18001 certification throughout the Canadian market. Support this through developing and implementing specific tools and initiatives as part of the Corporate Safety program as well as exercising functional leadership of the local site managers across Canada.
  • Provide coaching & support to the corporate site managers, sales team managers and line managers to achieve the national safety objectives and to ensure Safety becomes / remains a line management responsibility. Ensure that Safety performance data is available and correctly managed.
  • Champion the corporate Safety risk assessment program, including assessment, incident investigation, corrective action and auditing.

 

Role Requirements

  • University Degree in a Safety, Health and Environment related field required
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience across safety, health and/or environmental areas.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, LEAN and TPM concepts.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Successfully demonstrated ability to manage change.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through others.
