Nestlé Canada is seeking a strategic and highly skilled Manager, External Communications & CSV (Creating Shared Value) to help advance and protect our corporate reputation across earned, owned, and social channels.

As a senior member of the Corporate Affairs team, you will shape compelling narratives that reinforce our purpose, values, sustainability commitments, and business priorities. You will drive executive visibility, lead CSV storytelling, and support the organization through issues and crisis communications—bringing clarity, alignment, and strong counsel to complex matters.

A day in the life of a Manager, External Communications & CSV:

 

Corporate Brand & Executive Thought Leadership

 

•    Develop and execute strategies to strengthen the Nestlé Canada corporate brand across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels. 
•    Lead executive visibility initiatives by positioning the CEO and senior leaders as authentic, credible voices on key topics. 
•    Oversee social media activity for executives, ensuring content is aligned, proactive, and impactful.
•    Manage and respond to media inquiries for corporate and brand topics, ensuring accuracy and reputational alignment.

 

Creating Shared Value (CSV) Leadership

 

•    Lead the strategy and execution of CSV communications across platforms and audiences. 
•    Oversee the annual CSV Snapshot—story sourcing, message development, content creation, approvals, and distribution.
•    Develop supporting materials to elevate proactive CSV storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and issue response.
•    Provide strategic communications counsel to Sustainability, Consumer Wellness, and DEI teams; serve as a member of the Sustainability Committee.

 

Digital Transformation in Communications

 

•    Embed AI tools into content creation, crisis monitoring, sentiment analysis, and analytics to modernize and enhance communications practices.

 

Issues & Crisis Management

 

•    Lead communications support for issues and crisis management, developing briefs, Q&As, statements, and holding materials. 
•    Coordinate communication with the Crisis Management Team, overseeing external and employee messaging and leading media response.
•    Collaborate with Consumer Services and Digital teams to ensure aligned messaging across channels.
•    Maintain a strong understanding of industry and company-specific issues; proactively prepare external communications.

 

Team & Cross Functional Support

 

•    Provide strategic counsel and execution support for the SVP, Corporate Affairs and Director, Corporate Communications.
•    Collaborate closely with Internal Communications, Community Partnerships, and corporate communications partners to ensure alignment and visibility of Corporate Affairs initiatives.


Nestlé Corporate Brand & Executive Thought Leadership


•    Develop and execute strategies that strengthen the Nestlé corporate brand across earned, paid, shared, and owned channels.
•    Drive executive visibility initiatives by positioning the CEO and senior leaders as authentic voices on priority topics aligned with Nestlé’s purpose and business strategy.
•    Oversee and optimize executive social media presence, ensuring channels are active, aligned, and reflective of strategic communications priorities.
•    Manage and respond to media for Nestlé Canada and its brands, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reputational alignment.
•    Work with Marketing on brand communication and creative campaign alignment 

 

Role Requirements

 

•    Certificate or University Degree in Communications or Public Relations
•    Minimum 8 years of corporate communications experience in fast paced, high complexity environments. 
•    Expertise in crisis and issues management, media relations, and content development.
•    Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint; basic proficiency in Excel. 
•    Experience with digital publishing platforms (SharePoint, website CMS), social media tools, analytics platforms, Canva, and AI enabled content creation tools.


Skills & Capabilities

•    Strong business acumen and excellent judgment. 
•    Ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives. 
•    Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. 
•    Ability to remain calm under pressure, navigate ambiguity, and make sound decisions.
