Position Summary
Nestlé Health Science Canada is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison to serve as a credible scientific partner to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders. This national, field‑based role is externally focused and plays a key role in executing medical and clinical strategy through scientific exchange, education, and stakeholder engagement.
The Medical Scientific Liaison will support a growing and evolving Nestlé Health Science portfolio across multiple categories and channels, including medical nutrition and consumer care, contributing to evidence‑based decision making and informed scientific exchange. Note: this position is a brand-new role.
A day in the life of a Medical Scientific Liaison:
External Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and manage strong, credible relationships with key healthcare professionals (HCPs), scientific experts, and medical decision makers across Canada
• Partner with the field sales team to support clinically focused scientific exchange and customer engagements
• Identify and activate appropriate stakeholders for company sponsored programs and scientific initiatives
• Capture and communicate insights from external stakeholders to inform business strategy and medical priorities
Medical & Scientific Information
• Respond accurately and compliantly to medical and scientific inquiries from external customers and internal teams
• Participate in national and international scientific meetings, workshops, and conferences, with structured insight reporting
• Prepare written scientific summaries, reports, and knowledge sharing documentation.
Medical & Scientific Education
• Develop and deliver scientific training and education in collaboration with Medical Affairs
• Train and support the field sales force to strengthen their clinical and scientific knowledge, enabling more effective customer interactions
• Design and execute external medical education programs and scientific events aligned with business strategies
Evidence Generation & Insights
• Identify gaps in evidence through stakeholder interactions and share insights with Medical Affairs
• Support and monitor evidence generation initiatives as defined by Medical Affairs
• Engage with local researchers and investigators to support clinical and scientific collaboration.
What will make you successful?
• Registered Dietitian (RD) with Master’s degree, or Medical Degree, or PhD in Nutrition or Nutritional Sciences
• 3 -5 years of clinical patient care experience (preferred)
• Academic or research involvement strongly preferred
• MSL or sales experience considered an asset
• Deep knowledge and expertise in clinical nutrition science and applied scientific principles
• Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system (hospital, long term care, home care)
• Exceptional knowledge of HCP, academic, and research networks
• Proven ability to balance scientific rigor with clinical application and business relevance
You will also have:
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, able to communicate with small and large professional groups
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working in a matrix environment with cross‑functional teams
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
• High integrity, adaptability, and confidence in scientific decision‑making
