Position Summary:

The Nutrition and Regulatory Affairs Manager will have oversight of the current Nestle Nutrition Portfolio today while supporting the long-term pipeline and strategy. This role will foster out of the box thinking to identify product and communication opportunities built on strong nutritional science to meet the needs of consumers and help the business navigate the Canadian regulatory environment. They will drive growth for the Nutrition Business through strong engagement with key internal cross-functional (local and global) teams and external stakeholders. This role will have one direct report.

 

A Day in life of a Nutrition & Regulatory Affairs Manager


•    Lead the Nutrition Science & Regulatory Affairs Strategy for the Nutrition Business:


a. Translate nutrition scientific principles into business opportunities for the category
b. Ensure sound nutrition science is embedded into the innovation and renovation pipeline according to Canadian regulatory requirements – both short & long term
c. Provide scientific and regulatory substantiation for claims, 3rd party certifications and other product attributes
d. Provide oversite to ensure regulatory compliance for our brands
e. Identify short- and long-term nutrition and regulatory opportunities and lead the advocacy work for their achievement and removal of regulatory roadblocks as relevant

 

    Lead the Medical Affairs Strategy for the Nutrition Business:


a. Develop the medical & scientific affairs strategy and activation plan in medical channel that build brand advocacy and drives brand recommendations from healthcare professionals
b. Is the Nutrition Scientific expert, ensuring Nutrition Science is translated into key documents, positions and materials in the context of the Nutrition Business realities
c. Ensure that Medical & Scientific Affairs activities are aligned to business strategy, as well as in compliance with corporate and government policies and regulations.
d. Core point person, and Subject Matter Expert (SME), for all medical & scientific needs across external and internal stakeholders.


•    Represent the Nutrition Business Externally


a. Develop objective-driven and realistic Key Opinion Leader and Stakeholder Engagement strategy and activation plan to reinforce Nestlé Nutrition's scientific leadership and credibility
b. Showcase Nestlé Nutrition's external credibility as science leader amongst healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and stakeholders through a variety of strategic medical & scientific initiatives, with goal to build advocacy across the Nestlé Nutrition portfolio.
c. Accountable to develop and facilitate medical education for external stakeholders on key scientific platforms that will drive advocacy across Nestlé Nutrition portfolio.
d. Responsible for responding to inquiries from HCPs.
e. Be the external and internal Canadian Medical and Scientific lead during crisis management

 

Role Requirements


•    University Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent experience. Post graduate experience in nutrition preferred
•    Minimum of 6 years of experience in industry or a related field, preferably CPG or Consumer Health, Natural Health Products
•    Previous regulatory experience or demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment
•    People Management experience preferable
•    Experience with external stakeholders (KOLs/Academia/Industry Groups)
