Position Summary

We are looking for a Business Analyst based at our North York office, reporting into the VP, Generating Demand, Foods Business. This position is responsible for delivering best in class analytics for the division by leveraging and integrating numerous data sources and enabling end-to-end analytics. The role will take leadership in providing the marketing and sales team clear metrics, strategic insights and strong recommendations that deepen the business units understanding of our categories, competitors and consumers. 

A day in the life of...

As a Business Analyst, you will support the marketing and Category & Shopper Development team in advancing the development and deployment of key initiatives with analytics and project management.


You will also: 
•    Influence and monitor impact of Business Drivers; a knowledge leader in the business for helping the marketing & sales team understand the performance of the business and anticipate upcoming challenges and opportunities
•    Conduct recurring and ad hoc business, category & shopper analysis, including category and shopper performance analyses
•    Develop actionable insights for assigned categories and new category adjacencies (e.g., category trends, shopper purchase behaviors, market attractiveness, etc.) utilizing AC Nielsen data and loyalty data sources
•    Develops fact-based storytelling by providing relevant category, channel and customer information, including areas of under/over performance, rationale & potential future opportunities for growth.
•    Delivers best in class insights and recommendations (category/customer/banner) as it relates to category leadership and driving sustainable category growth
•    Develop “Gold Standard” assortment recommendations and “Best in Class” planograms for assigned categories.

What will make you successful

As the successful candidate, you will be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with experience working cross-functionally with sales and marketing.  You will have proven problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to gain insights and develop recommendations.  You will need to be results focused, detail oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment managing several complex priorities with strict deadlines.  


You will also have:
•    5 years of combined sales and analytical experience with a minimum of 2 years in an analytical role.
•    Excellent project management, facilitation and communication skills. 
•    An excellent understanding of technology (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)
•    Advanced proficiency in Nielsen Analytics.  Experience with Customer POS data (i.e Dunnhumby, LDIA and IRI). 
•    A University degree, ideally in Business Administration with a focus on sales, marketing or finance.
