Position Summary
We are looking for a Category Demand Planner based at our North York location. This role will be responsible to develop, maintain and improve a Demand Plan for Confectionary Bars. Ensure the alignment of this Demand Plan with internal and external partners through the Monthly Business Planning and Collaborative Planning processes. Identify and manage exceptions and monitor performance in order to continually improve the quality and reliability of the Demand Plan and the Company’s ability to sense and respond to changing circumstances.
A day in the life of...
As a Category Demand Planner you will be managing Portfolio Lifecycles. Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage portfolio lifecycle, such as new product launches, packaging changes, phase-in/phase-out, and product discontinuation.
You will also:
• Drive consensus through Monthly Business Planning processes: Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive effective MBP processes to reach consensus demand plan. This becomes a primary input to the Dynamic Forecast
• Collate Information and Assumptions: Collect information and assumptions about events, activities in relation to promotions, product launches, customer/distribution changes that form important part of demand plan
• Manage Portfolio Lifecycle: Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage portfolio lifecycle, such as new product launches, packaging changes, phase-in/phase-out, and product discontinuation. Ensure that demand is appropriately forecasted and maintained in all circumstances
• Generate and Maintain the Forecast: Demand planner has sufficient knowledge to be able to leverage statistical forecast generated by data scientists in addition to combining other incremental impactors (including customer level forecast generated by CuDPs) to generate final consensus demand plan
• Build strong relationship with Customer demand planners to share category/customer specific insights to improve the forecast accuracy
• Contribute to the expert network (SMEs, NCE, etc.) and Digital Acceleration by being a member and/or participating in special projects to drive overall efficiency of the planning process
What will make you successful
As the successful candidate, you will need to be passionate, results focused with a strong service orientation and developed organizational and planning skills. You will also:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in supply chain or other similar planning roles
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and gain alignment with key stakeholders at levels, including senior management.
• Highly analytical and ability to gain insight to interpret detailed information.
• Completed University Degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or logistics
