What to Expect:
We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Category and Shopper Development based at our Nestlé operating company in North York, Ontario reporting into the Category and Shopper Development Leader. This position is responsible for developing actionable insights for assigned categories and assisting in driving and shaping the brand strategy by channel through the integration of marketing and sales to commercialize generating demand initiatives.
A day in the life:
As a Senior Analyst, Category and Shopper Development Analyst, you will support the Category Development team in advancing the development and deployment of key initiatives with analytics and project management.
You will also:
- Develop actionable insights for your assigned categories (e.g., category trends, shopper purchase behaviours, etc.) utilizing AC Nielsen and Customer POS data.
- Assist in the creation of fact-based selling stories by providing relevant category, channel customer and consumer information, including areas of under/over performance, rationale & potential future opportunities for growth.
- Participate in the development of best-in-class Category Roadmaps and execution of Roadshows and Sales Playbooks for your category and support activation initiatives
- Develop “Gold Standard” assortment recommendations for assigned categories.

As the chosen candidate, you will be a proactive initiator with strong interpersonal abilities, along with experience collaborating across sales and marketing functions. You will possess demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, enabling you to extract insights and formulate recommendations. The role requires a results-oriented, detail-focused individual who excels in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, managing multiple complex priorities with tight deadlines.
You will also:
- 2+ years of combined sales and analytical experience within the CPG industry
- Excellent project management, time management, and communication skills
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools: MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Power BI
- University degree in a Business Administration with a focus on Sales, Marketing, or Finance
- Proficiency in Nielsen Analytics (experience with Customer POS data is an asset)
- Strong presentation skills with experience presenting to internal stakeholders or retail partners
- Previous vendor advisor or customer facing role is considered an asset
- Experience with Retailer POS & Loyalty platforms (Retail Link, LDIA, IRI) considered an asset
