You will play a key role in driving financial insights and supporting business decisions through planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. This role offers the opportunity to partner cross-functionally while strengthening financial discipline across the organization. This position is an existing vacancy.
A Day in the Life
Accounting Functions:
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial transactions and records, including invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and financial statement balances.
- Prepare the territory and international sales report according to the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and prepare the annual and monthly budgets and lead monthly close procedures around processing accruals and ensuring income statement accuracy.
- Calculate monthly sales tax liabilities and prepare quarterly and annual tax schedules to support accurate tax reporting, remittances, and financial statement balances. Maintain supporting documentation, ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and company policies, and assist with internal and external tax audits, assessments, and regulatory inquiries.
Financial Management Functions:

- Evaluate financial risks, prepare forecasts, financing scenarios and other documents regarding capital management, and write reports and recommendations.
- Review, validate, and provide assurance over financial reporting activities in accordance with established accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide analysis of operational performance, expense performance, and working capital. Coordinate month-end close and year-end close activities.
- Guide profitable decision making via provision of revenue reports for key accounts, product categories and core sku’s, generation of promotional program ROI’s, new product assessment and performance tracking, and generally identifying risks & opportunities.
- Interact with sales, continuous education and marketing leads to ensure financial goals and strategies are achieved, by monitoring and reporting on key financial and non-financial performance indicators.
You will also:

- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoice reconciliation, customer payment follow-up, and issue resolution.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial, sales, and commission reports to support business decision-making.
- Monitor and maintain accruals, prepaid expenses, and other financial transactions to ensure accurate reporting.
- Review customer purchase orders and supporting documentation and generate invoices accurately and on time.
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Support month-end close activities, including general ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and recommend adjustments where appropriate.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and cross-functional teams to support financial compliance and reporting requirements.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and insights that support operational and strategic business objectives.
Role Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance
- Minimum 3 years of directly related work experience in Accounting and Finance
- Good understanding of accounting concepts and related policies
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel (Advanced), and PowerPoint
- Ability to work with ambiguity and manage complex business inputs to interpret issues and translate them into financial roadmaps
- Ability to work overtime during month-end and year-end close
Preferred Skills
-
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or currently working towards it
- Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, SOS, and SAP

Compensation Range: $85,000 – $95,000 CAD
