The Nestlé R&D Center located in the Loire Valley in Tours (France), is part of the Nestlé Institute of Agricultural Sciences within the Nestlé Research Organization whose main center is in Lausanne, Switzerland. Nestlé Research combines fundamental science at the highest level, high-end analytical platforms leveraged by all research teams, and strong capabilities to accelerate the translation of science into innovation. The Plant Science team builds knowledge on strategic crops with the aim of developing new plant materials to deliver quality products through better and sustainable farming.

  • Location: Notre Dame d'Oe, Tours, Centre-Val de Loire (37)
  • Holder of a superior studies degree (Master Degree)
  • Experience in Finance (min. 5 years)

Position summary:

As a Finance controller, manage consistent financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting activities to support management. Manage Opex and Capex budget and drive the yearly budget exercises and forecast, including salary budget. Ensure compliance with corporate and legal standards, as well as internal control. Manage contracts for IP related project. Represent Finance locally and coordinate local contracts. Able to lead projects locally in collaboration with Finance community.                                                                     

                                                                      

A day in the life of a finance controller

 

Act as Finance & Control site representative                                                                                                                               

OPEX:

Prepare, Coordinate and Control budget for the site, forecast for Nestle Institute of Agricultural Scientist Departement of Plant Sciences (Site, Businesses, or Institutes & Hosted Units) for Opex including salaries.

Perform monthly, quarterly closing, according to Nestle Account Standards.

Reporting process to managers / Institute Head, / finance head / Headquarters (Management Letter Account)

Validate costs via Webform linked Asset scrap, vendor creation changes etc.., Purchase requests etc..                                   

 

COMPLIANCE:

Ensure compliance of site in term of Finance / Procurement / Asset management etc. according to local, Nestlé Account Standards and audit rules - implement and control compliance of the site.

 

TAX CREDIT:

Prepare and coordinate tax credit on research in partnership with project leader and external advisory.

 

CAPEX:

Coordinate & manage CAPEX process (budget preparation, submission, compliance with Research & Developement guidelines, etc.…)

 

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:

Manage site outsourcing contracts (R&D contracts linked to projects)

 

LOCAL SITE ACTIVITIES:

Management services (coordinate local contracts and ensure compliance)

Lead locally process improvement projects & ad hoc requests in close collaboration with Centre Of Competencies Finance France and Switzerland.

Required Qualifications:

Experience in working in an operational unit.

Expert in Finance & Cost controlling

Project management skills

 

Languages:

Fluent in French & English

 

Specific requirements:

 

Good knowledge in SAP (Finance/Control)

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Expert level in Microsoft Excel

 

Other competencies:

Ability to work with Top Management

Ability to work independently with initiative.

Strong organizational & planning skills
