Position Summary  

 

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé’s leading R&D centre for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home.

As an Associate R&D Specialist Materials Characterization, you will be responsible for supporting Capsule & Packaging Concepts & Projects by selecting & measuring materials properties. You will actively explore novel materials, cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and ensure the viability of potential solutions. A Day in the Life of an Associate R&D Specialist Materials Characterization

 

  • Understand materials characteristics and establish specifications for systems
  • Validate packaging concepts based on data science
  • Develop new measurement methods & technologies
  • Participate to material and technology watch in the market
  • Participate in Nestlé brainstorming to contribute to successful concepts.
  • Develop expertise within the Team and NSTC, train lab technicians when applicable and encourage knowledge sharing

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Master's degree in Materials Science
  • At least 1-2 experience in packaging for systems in the Food & Beverage industry
  • Experience in paper based compostable solutions is a definite plus
  • Innovative and proactive mindset 
  • Team player and willingness to continuously learn and share knowledge
  • Proficiency in English, French is a plus
