Position Summary  

 

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is Nestlé’s leading R&D centre for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging and products for in-home and out-of-home. 

 

As a Methods Development Engineering Intern, you will be working on the automation of the measurement and data analysis of the quality tools for product, pack and beverage system validation.

Several methods of the quality laboratory could be improved by automatizing the data treatment, among other things packaging properties in a new sustainable approach. After having developped the proper automatization procedure, it will be necessary to validate it and find robust automatization parameters. A user-friendly interface should be developped to have the operator from factory line using the tool on a routine way, securing the optimized parameters. Finally, the data collected by the instrumnent together with metrology metadata should be sent to a shared facilities, in the framework of NSTC global connectivity project.

A Day in the Life of a Methods Development Engineering Intern

 

  • Develop automatization procedure for improved data acquisitation and data analysis
  • Ensure easy access to the tool by improving user interface
  • Design experimental plan to validate the measurements methods including the automatization steps
  • Perform the validation plan with the support of the Quality lab team
  • Analyze the data of the validation plan with appropriate tools following the Quality lab internal standards and reports 
  • Evaluate the possibilities to connect the tool to shared folder for further analysis

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Currently studying a Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mechanics, or related fields 
  • First experience in laboratory practice and automation 
  • Experience/knowledge in metrology an asset
  • Good knowledge in Python, R or similar. Knowledge in PowerBI a plus
  • Teamplayer with the ability to work autonomously
  • Organized and efficient mindset
  • Fluent in English, French an asset
