Our Nestlé Research & Development Center Orbe, Switzerland, develops for Nestlé worldwide new products, processes and packaging concepts for Infant Nutrition. In addition, it also provides technical assistance and engineering support for major Capital Investment Projects to our factories.

 

As Quality Specialist Infant Cereals and Healthy Snacks, you will ensure Quality and Food Safety by Design by providing scientific and/or technical guidance to projects with the aim of delivering flawless, innovative and competitive products/processes, in response to business and consumer needs. You will also support the markets with your specific expert knowledge and provide technical assistance. In addition, you will work to develop and approve new suppliers with a high impact on the business, ensuring baby food requirements and deadlines are met, with a strong focus on chemical contaminants.

A Day in the Life of a Quality Specialist Infant Cereals and Healthy Snacks

 

  • Promote Quality awareness across the company.
  • Provide support to projects assigned, ensuring quality and food safety by design from the early stages of the development up to their launch in factories. 
  • Ensure on-time delivery of key documents (HACCP, QMS and any other required quality documents depending on project scope).
  • Develop and approve suppliers according to Quality and food safety requirements for infant and toddler Nutrition application, together with procurement, Ingredient advisors, CTAG/ market QM and MRM team. 
  • Assess the suitability of raw materials for applications in baby food and maintain the database of approved materials, with focus on chemical contaminants.
  • Contribute to competence development of quality professionals.
  • Provide accurate and on-time support to operations with effective (quality, cost and on-time) and sustainable solutions. Give operational support, assistance in industrialization start-ups, follow-up product launches. 
  • Develop and/or update standards and guidelines based on business priorities, using latest knowledge, methods, standards, trends and ensure roll out to factories.


What will make you successful

 

  • Degree level in a related field (Food Technology; Engineering; Manufacturing; Microbiology...).
  • Proven QA experience regarding safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of R&D/Operations/Factory experience in Infant Nutrition production. 
  • Infant Food and chemical contaminant knowledge as well as experience in auditing suppliers are a plus.
  • Fluent in English - Other languages would be an advantage.
