Position Summary
The Nestlé System Technology Center in Orbe is Nestlé’s leading competence center for the design, development and deployment of Nestlé systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging, and products for in-home and out-of-home.
As “Quality Specialist in R&D”, you will support the development of Product, Packaging and Filling and Sealing lines within the R&D pipeline. You will ensure it meets the quality success criteria expected by our customer and consumers and is in line with the Nestlé Management System.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to be in close contact with operations, lead risk and food safety assessment, and travel to suppliers’ site outside of Switzerland.
You will be the guardian of the quality by design and control performance, and you will ensure continuous improvement throughout the development phases.

A Day in the Life of a Quality Specialist in R&D
- Lead quality checklist including QA business gates recommendations, QMS and validation plan management
- Support project managers on risk & opportunity assessment, preliminary food safety assessment, functional analysis, design and process FMEA, HACCP, etc.
- Ensure right first time by design of new System, product, packaging and F&S line
- Modelize QMS and HACCP when the maturity and mastership is achieved
- Provide technical expertise to factories and consumer services with regards to consumer's complaints
- Promote quality by design awareness to all stakeholders involved during the development process
What will make you successful
- University degree in the related scientific field such as food technology, biology, chemistry or similar
- 5+ years’ quality experience in R&D and/or operations
- Solid background in food safety, packaging, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Significant exposure working in projects and support activities
- Excellent communication skills
- Business proficiency in English
