Position Summary  

As an R&D Flavour Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop your scientific competencies and provide valuable scientific support to projects by leveraging technical expertise in Flavour Science. Your primary focus will be to understand the origin and release of monoterpenes to enhance floral, fruity/citrusy flavors in the cup. You will play a key role in determining the precursors of monoterpenes and their levels in selected coffee origins.

 

A Day in the Life of an R&D Flavour Intern 

  • Provide technical and scientific support for R&D projects
  • Plan and conduct laboratory analyses, collaborating closely with laboratory technicians to achieve project objectives
  • Utilize cutting-edge analytical techniques and perform data treatment to extract meaningful insights
  • Ensure the quality of scientific data generated, leveraging them into a comprehensive database for easy accessibility
  • Regularly present research findings in written and oral form to team members and supervisors

 

What will make you successful

  • Current student or fresh graduate of master's studies in Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology
  • Solid knowledge of organic or food chemistry, with familiarity in analytical techniques such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry being advantageous
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with analytics tools (e.g., Excel)
  • Strong motivation, adaptability, and a quick learning ability
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a plus
